AUSTIN ... hard worker, loves a tackle, can be devastatingly effective on his day, but unfortunately there haven't been to many of "his days" recently ... still an asset within the squad, I feel his issue is his fitness, as he lacks the stamina to perform at the Championship's tempo for a full season ... will be good in short burst, and can come off the bench to help protect a lead MURPHY ... has shown glimpses of his undoubted potential, but seems to have lacked confidence ... this could be because of the system he's been forced to play in, along with the lack of quality around him ... will still come good in a stable environment BIANCHI ... quality player, so effortless on the ball and can make a tackle as well ... needs to be used properly to make him effective ... potential Leeds Legend COOK ... all round player with bags of quality ... very cool head, excellent touch and pass and good anticipation and understanding of his position ... has won a major trophy with England U17s ... future full International for sure ... potential Leeds Legend DAWSON ... sheer class, this kid glides across the park and is superb on the ball ... still growing, he is coming back from a long-term injury and needs time to gain strength ... potential Leeds Legend MOWATT ... jumped ahead of Dawson due to his physique, very good player who will only get better ... over played last season, and it hurt him physically ... potential Leeds Legend SLOTH ... Danish International, still very young, great find ... looks quality already, but needs to improve his fitness to put in a shift in the Championship ... one to watch BENEDICIC ... clearly a youngster with potential, AC Milan don't sign mugs ... has a season to bed in and grow, can expect a few games and sub appearances as he learns and finds his feet ADRYAN ... extremely highly-rated Brazilian playmaker ... very skillful, expected to become our creator-in-chief ... will fill the number 10 role in the squad to link play to the strikers ... come on son! MONTENEGRO ... winger who has pace ... needed in terms of giving us width WHITE ... seems to have hit the wall in terms of improving, very limited playing time expected ... can fill in at left-back NORRIS ... a trier and hard worker, but not good enough for this team anymore ... should be moved on TONGE ... too slow now, still has the touch but the game passes him by in the Championship ... should be moved on THOMPSON ... still waiting to fulfill his potential, his temperament has hurt his progress ... don't expect him to be at Leeds beyond this season if not sooner We have plenty of depth now in this area, so those not contributing can be moved on without disrupting the squad ... main area of concern is the lack of goals from midfield
Austin, White, Norris and Tonge need to be gone asap and maybe even Murphey because one good game in five isn't what we expected for £1m
Largely agree, but some comments .... Austin & Murphy - should remain as squad players. Who knows what good coaching might do for them. Glad to have them as backups. (equally happy if they're sold, tbh). Mowatt - don't believe it was simply overplaying him last season - he simply wasn't fit enough. Has lost 1 or 2 stone in close season & is superbly fit now. White - can go now. Wasted wage. Got 2 left backs, & as I recall, Pearce has covered that position before, so completely surplus to requirements. Norris - I hear a deal has already been done to send him on his way - it's just a wages issue to be resolved (which I'm sure it will). Thompson - he's just not getting a chance, is he? Looks like the writing is on the wall for him. He certainly caught the eye when he did play, to be fair. Tonge - I agonise over this one. He might be the one guy we've got that can come off the bench & put his foot on the ball to slow a match down. Deffo not the player he was. Pace has gone, but all other skills remain (again, wouldn't be fussed if he goes).
