Is now officially over, but what a belter this season was! From promotion prospects, with a fantastic manager like Mark Magoo planning on taking the boys up a division. Didn't quite work out somehow and we ended the year rock solid bottom and looked doomed for the conference, fights breaking out on our official forum every day and our club being ripped apart from the inside out (since Buckle came along in fact!). JW stepped in and brought us all back together. He did a truly fabulous job in not only keeping up a club that looked destined for non-league footy, but having us placed in a comfortable mid table league position, and on the verge of a play-off chase. Biased I know, but JW should get manager of the season, at least league two manager of the season, for what he has achieved with us in a little under 5 months. I for one am content with this and think next season could be a good one (though I wonât count my chickens after thinking this twice with Buckle and then Mcgoo! The defeat yesterday was not a disgrace - We had one of the weakest squads fielded all season, playing against a very good Bradford side who were always going to win when you think about it. They deserve their playoff place and I hope they go up. They have been too long down here for a club of such a size! If we can get JJOT signed up or a midfielder of very similar quality, sign a couple of good strikers and sign another good defender, then we should be in the mix next season! As optimistic as ever
I predicted a top ten finish at the start of the season so hopefully we will finish around 9th or 10th all in all its been a very good second half of the season what with the UWE stadium to look forward to its a shame that JW didn't join a few months earlier then I'm sure we would of made the play-offs.
What JW has done with very limited resources has been miraculous. Roll on next season - now at least, we have a Gashead at the helm.
