I had a look at who we could face in the play-offs, we could face Ajax, Lazio, CSKA Moscow, Panthinakos, Sporting Lisbon and many more.

I had a look also and I am pretty sure it will be a team from Europe. Unless it's a club from Turkey, Israel or Russia in which case, not.

Geography fail. Moscow's in Europe. As is Istanbul.

Israel not so much, so I'll give you that one.

Does that mean we won't be in Europe any more after 2017?

We'll vote to stay in so that's a moot point. Who are you anyway, Farage?!

You'd like Lazio, Matth. I'll lend you my Israel flag if you like.

    I'd take a 12-16 loss right now

If we can't beat any of those, we don't deserve to be in the CL.

    This.
And besides, you dont even know if you will finish 4th yet.
You can still nick 3rd right? if you beat Arsenal.....
2nd is extremely unlikely at this point, but if you beat Arsenal <ok> third place!

    A long shot.

We have to beat Arsenal and then hope that they don't get 4 points from their last 2 matches (assuming we beat Hull in our last game).

In fact, the match against Arsenal is even more spicy than I initially thought. United need to win but also win by a good score. A 2-0 then the Arse GD advantage is reduced (+3 only). A very unlikely 3-0 win for United would reduce that advantage to +1.

Then, to be certain of finishing 3rd, Arsenal would need to win both of their last 2 matches. If they draw one and win one, they'll end up on equal points with United (assuming United win) and United might top them if they score more.
