Shows how bad a manager you are when Gullit, Dogleash and Sourpuss is above you!

12 more defeats and he will have lost more games than any other manager.

Statistics don't always tell the full story.

Dalglish, Gullit and Souness inherited good squads that were already competing at the top.
They were also supported by Shepherd, bankrolling all of them in the Transfer Market.
All three of their records should have been better and the fact they're not was the reason they were ultimately sacked.

As much as I think Pardew is no longer the answer, comparing him with those three nuggets proves nothing other than highlighting past failures, and the need for greater investment going forward, to give the manager whoever it is, a chance to succeed.

Ball in Ashley's court as far as I can see.

Stats like this become meaningless as there are so many other variables, if Souness played the same games as Keegan did with the same players then the results might mean something, if Pardew had Shearer and Ferdinand in their prime as his strike force would that be a more valid comparison, to get some validity work out from all the stats each managers first 16 games in charge and then see where they lie.

I do agree it's a meaningless stat. Besides which, Pardew being complete and utter turd is highly obvious with or without stats.

In the terms of pointless articles and statistics this has to be one of the worst I've seen.

The amount of variables and changes that affect that list are blinding! According to that list, Hughton is one of the worst managers we've ever had. We all know that is entirely false, and that alone shows the list is nothing but nonsense. Not to mention look at how high Souness is, and he's possibly the worst manager to ever manage in the prem, destroyed every team he was at, and ruined everything good surrounding them, Liverpool have only just repaired the damage he caused!

Pardew's time at the club is up, but he's surely not worse than half of the managers on that list. <ok>

Far too many variables as others have said, not least budget constraints.

Roeder sits in 3rd but the football under him was horrible watch, far worse than Pards reign which has at least had high points in terms of style. And he thought Martins was a footballer as opposed to circus acrobat.

Pardew was lucky enough to scrape by in the season we finished 5th. A lot of our football was dire, only difference was our defence had a 'purple' patch and we were getting lucky goals!

I am surprised how high souness is on that table, I always seem to remember A LOT more defeats under that clown's stewardship than anybody else!

Even some of the wins seemed like defeats when he was here.
