i've heard people going on about this Chelsea performance is the best they've seen in a champions league semi final, i'm sorry but our perfromance against Juventus is better because we were facing the european champions at the time, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes were going to miss the final, and we were 2-0 at half time but we won 3-2 thanks to goals from Keane, Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.

Were we not facing the European champions either then?

Chelsea were also facing the European champions and team many think is up there as the best ever. They also had 10 men for an hour and were at one point 2-0 down.

I remember the United/Juventus game and as great as it was but it was not a better performance than Chelsea last night.

10 men, 2-0 down, one of the hardest places in Europe, no center backs. No brainer for me <ok>

We actually outplayed Juventus though, you could hardly say Chelsea outplayed Barca. All they did was park the bus, and ride there luck:biggrin:

Out of all the people on the United board, how did I know King ****head would have some sort of criticism <laugh>

How is this seasons Barcelona one of the best sides ever? There 7 points adrift in La Liga, and there biggest rivals Madrid actually won at the Nou Camp Saturday night

I'm not even going to argue - it's clearly a better result than United v. Juventus but I guess there will always be a few fans bitter that other clubs are getting plaudits.

Chelsea got a draw by parking the bus and hacking, even before they were down to 10, Drogba was camped in his own half defending. We on the other hand didnt park the bus in Turin, we beat Juventus by outplaying them.

Don't think either that Juventus werent a strong team either, they had world class players like Zidane, Edgar David's, Nedved, Perotto, Del Pierro and Inzaghi:biggrin:

    Clearly Uniteds win was better.

We had a touch of the ball of more than 4 occasions in the 2 legs. Chelsea didnt.

Chelseas biggest strength was Barcelonas confidence to score eventually and that by attacking none stop they didnt need to defend. Torres clearly took this chance to score ( it was about as easy as you can get, one on one and you cost £50million, if he didnt score he would of hanged himself last night ).

Chelsea were dogged and resilient and it was a great display of a team defensive unit.

Juventus were the strongest team back then, they were barcelona and they had a far better team than man united on paper. We beat them by total football and passion not by luck.

However we were strong so I would say that chelsea winning last night was a far better result, due to them being light years behind barca but still managing to pull it off, im glad they did

United's was a better attacking performance vs Juventus in 1999, Chelsea's last night a better defensive one. We could've scored several (against a better defence than Barcelona last night). But our defending wasn't as good against a worse attack than Barca's.

We actually won the game, Chelsea didn't. But Juve weren't European champions then, Madrid were. And Barca are possibly the best club side in history.

I think Chelsea just about edge it due to them having ten men.

This is right, both were brilliant but for very different reasons.

From a football point of view though, the Juve v United one was sublime and last nights wasn't. Both United and Juventus were at the time far more entertaining and pure attacking then Barca are now, for all their lovely tippy tappy pissing about, and Chelsea was blood and guts dtermination and not really entertaining in a footballing sense.

Not that it wasn't excellent in its own way of course.
