Burnely H Anderlect H Swansea A Man Utd H Dortmund H West Brom A A really interesting mix of fixtures and a month that will tell us a lot about how this season is going to pan out. Two very winnable games against Burnley and Anderlect at home, followed by a tricky fixture away to Swansea. Then come the big ones, Utd at home. This game is going to be a real barometer of where we are this season. We haven't beaten Utd for ages and last season we blew our chance to beat them at home with a really lacklustre performance. This season we have a chance to put that right, Utd are beatable and to get the monkey off our backs about not beating the big teams, this is a perfect opportunity to put that right. If we do beat them I think it could be a launch pad for the rest of the season. That comes with a caveat though, we have Dortmund at home midweek after the Utd game and that is going to be a massive test. Hopefully by then we will have qualified for the knockout stages, but beating Dortmund would be a real statement in the Champions League. Then we have another tricky away tie at West Brom, who are looking good this season and will be a tough nut to crack. My predictions for this month are as follows: Burnely - win Anderlect - win Swansea - draw Utd - win Dortmund - loss West Brom - draw Thoughts ?
Given the Dortmund game is almost effectively meaningless I can't see anything other than a draw. Neither team will play all out. Slow paced 0-0 for that I predict. West Brom I can see a win. United home I can see a standard draw. We look slightly better away than at home.
I wouldn't call the Dortmund game meaningless, even though it looks like it will be Dortmund top and Arsenal second, barring a miracle from Anderlect or Galatasaray. Fortunately both sets of players will be a million miles from going into this game thinking it's meaningless and I'm expecting a top quality game. Nobody will be expecting Arsenal to win it, but a win would really be a shot in the arm for this team. I think West Brom away might be a tricky fixture as will Swansea, but I think we've got a great chance to beat Utd this season. But then we did last season and the game was a dull as dishwater. I just think that there are a couple of games this month that have the potential to really lift this team, that is if we win them .....
Feeling positive so... Burnley - Win And erect - Win Swansea - Loss (I really rate them) United - Draw Dortmund - Win WBA - Win
Looking at our current TEAM FORM and not Sanchez form, then I can see the following happening. Burnley - Win Anderlect - Win Swansea - Draw United - Draw Dortmund - Loss WBA - Draw Maybe we will pick it up mid November and change a couple of draws to wins? But what is heartening is that we appear to be getting results when we've been playing utter balls.
Man United will beat you. They have a decent team (albeit yours is better imo) but they have a manager with a brain. When was the last time you beat a top 6 side? Was us at SB 5-3 wasn't it? When was that 3 years ago? I seem to remember RVP got a hatrick so it must have been 2011 ish.
Didn't realize United were a Top 6 side considering where they finished last season. And somehow their manager with a brain bottled one of the easiest opening fixtures in the Prem in years and got trounced 4-0 by MK ****ing Dons. Oh and shows how good your memory is considering we beat Spurs thrice last season.
I see your point, but I think we can safely assume Spurs place in the top 6 will be snatched by United this season. Though I suppose with how gash Liverpool have been of late, they may still get a place by default.
Should add that Swansea are no where near being the easiest team to beat in the PL. Also that was before the window closed and they had spent a gajillion dollars on a new team.
Last season we beat Liverpool and Everton twice and spurs three times. We beat utd the season before. We beat city in the community shield at the start of this season. So we've beaten all of the top six other than you since that 5-3 win.
