Afternoon all, i would like to discuss this subject, when Fergie eventually retires, the board could be making one of the biggest decisions in our club's history and there's 2 candidates that are constantly been linked with the United job and they are Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, let me say, these 2 are 2 of the best managers in the world that know how to win trophies but if one of them gets appointed to be our new manager, will they stay at the club for more than 4 years, i mean look at Guardiola, he was winning trophies for fun with Barcelona and the slightest sign of pressure, he's off, i think that could be his downfall if he got the job, Mourinho has won trophies with every club he's been at, but he hardly stays at clubs for more than 3 years, the only club he's got some of the fans support are Real Madrid, he dropped Iker Casillas yesterday and 2 weeks before their break, i mean that would be like dropping Giggs or Scholes, I agree with Sir Bobby Charlton in regards o his attitude, it stinks, i mean, he poked Tito Villanova in the eye last year in the spanish version of the community shield, i don't want that sort of behaviour at United and he's only recently been playing the youngsters at the Bernabeu, he hardly done that at his previous clubs. With all that said, i would pick Guardiola, due to the attacking football he plays, that would suit us, and also he promoted a lot of young players when he was at Barcelona.
Hard to say. Like Fergie says if he retires in say 3 years who knows who the next big manager will be then. I don't particularly want Guardiola as he inherited a good side including Messi, Xavi and Iniesta so I don't really know if he would do a good job at United. I think Mike Bassett could do the job
Confirmed at a press conference that he will be back in football next season. "I'd like to return to coaching. I'll be training a team next year, but I still don't know where" That's what Pep Guardiola said today.
Not to mention some of his quotes - '' To get better we must improve'' and 'there's only one person you can trust and that's yourself...... and the fans their brilliant and your family'' Those alone must make him the front runner for the job
He said he'd return to coaching. What if Pep comes in as a coach? Then if he is deemed worthy by Fergie, takes over as manager?
This one has been done to death recently. All I will do is repeat I think it will be Guardiola and I think it will be after this season.
