<peacedove>After international break we are playing Arsenal on Saturday.I was actually surprised the way Arsenal came back from two goals down. Tottenham 5:2.Perhaps when we have been playing Tottenham we gave them too much respect. They looked ordinary yesterday. Looking forward to this game.<ok>

Despite their poor cup form, they have a decent run of results in the league winning their last three. Good results also.

Looks like Aggers injured as well so gonna be a toughie <ok> we can certainly get at their very dodgy defence but gonna have to bloody sit on van persie the form he's in. We can do it though <ok>

I am confident that we can beat them as long as we approach the game the right way. Their defence is still pretty shaky so with the right players on the pitch we should exploit them

in case anyone missed it spurs only took the lead through long ball tactics... they were using saha as a target.... bale dived.. arsenal really put spurs to the sowrd and proved something about too much respect being given guys.

After extra time i think its vital gerrard is withdrawn form international duty... i think agger has brokwn a rib as we are goingt o be seeing carra/skertl and with arsenal coming thats not good.

I can see carroll being ok v arsneal even though he missed 6 chances yesterday.

Really could have done with spurs holding on to that lead yesterday for a couple of reasons
    • Obviously needed arsenal to drop the points.
    • Arsenal will now be on a high when playing us next week
    • Spuds are playing united next week

Still it should at least quieten down some of the spuds fans for a couple of weeks.

I'm wondering if 'arry has told the team he is off to manage England in the summer, and now he'll get nothing from them.

good question.... i think whether he has or not they aint too pushed and have decided he is.

VDV came on yesterday and was awful, he effectively threw the game he was that bad.... well slight exaggeration... the point is a guy like that is going to be angling for options right now.

I hope he's told them all he's off and the likes of saha and nelson are saying cheers for the signing on fee harry... (plus the bung he got himself) and are now in full find a new club next summer mode!

The psychology of this thread has been all wrong so far.

Firstly we can win the Arsenal game because we are the better team and have a stronger squad.

Secondly we won't be playing with Gerrard and Adam as a midfield pairing.

Thirdly we won't be leaving Henderson out on the right.

Fourthly we now have 2 clear independant targets for the rest of the season and can play with less fear.

You need to get some bullet point tips off MITO. <ok>

However I agree, Adam just isn't good enough to protect the back for as well as go forward. Henderson plays far better in the centre with his splitting through balls and engine, can see him starting from the bench for this one.

MNS, right on with the sig btw!

I think at home against Arsenal we should be able to beat them. Just don't need to pull a Chel53a.

We should beat Arsenal easily if we play anywhere near our best. Their defence is pretty pathetic to be honest and I would say that this is the worst Arsenal team ive prob ever seen.

And will Liverpool expose that defence? Liverpool have scored a rather pathetic 14 goals at home. We have won our last three league games and we are in decent form in the league. Also we are seven points clear of you lot and should we win on Saturday then it will 10 and probably see us pull away from you for good. So, a lot at stake. Liverpool have had so many draws at home its unreal. As bad as our defence, our attack is also miles better then yours. We will test that defence with our pace. Lucas going to be a big miss in midfield. Also, must a bit worrying for you that the worst Arsenal team you have ever seen is seven points in front of your team.

Yes but all the team's we drew against at home defended well and Arsenal are not capable of defending well IMO because they only have one good defender, we will see on Sat I suppose I might be eating my words but I feel if we play well we will win and im sure you would feel the same if it was in the Emirates.

Two teams that should be brimming with confidence. A bit concerned with Agger being out, but at home I think we can get the points we need, hoping the CC win will put a winning mentality back within the squad.

As for the 7 points, if we win the game in hand ( Everton at home, not easy but doable I think), it is only 4. We beat you it is down to 1. Just taking your 10 points clear and showing the other side. It should be a good game, early as **** for me but a good game <ok>

I am confident for this game. We saw the blueprint yesterday and hopefully we carry on that form. We can be devastating on the counter and have Van Persie to get on the end of it. We score plenty of goals. Always have and always will under Wenger. Could be a high scoring game.

You are forgetting something. We have one of the meanest defences in the Premiership. We may not have scored that many at home but we have generally dominated the games we have played. If even a half of the shots that hit the woodwork had gone in then our points tally would have been at least 9 more than we presently have.

This match, for us, is very winnable ideed

It seems every game this year with the " big 6" have been high scoring games!! 8-2,5-3,4-0,5-2,3-0, etc. Crazy!

    Gooner in peace.

Big game coming up, but tbh I couldn't give a toss about it just yet. Too busy soaking up the pleasure from hammering the upstarts from the poor half of north London. Can't understand why they seem to hate you guy's so much either. Guess it must be jealousy - god knows they have plenty to be jealous of :p

Here's to a classic LFC v AFC match however it turns out.
