Regarding the new players , meaning those who did not play for us last season , how much have they cost in total ?

I know we are not a club with money to waste , a la , M. City & Chelsea , but we must be in the category of " financially comfortably off " , and yet we go scavenging for other teams throwaways. When are we going to see those marque players who will sell all the remaining season tickets , and bring us some upper-class football ? Last season's second-half can be improved upon , believe it or not.<cheers>

We will never compete with the likes of Chelsea/Man City in the financial stakes so spending vast sums of money is out of the question. However I agree that we ought to be in a position to spend a little on a 'star' man. As I see it teams with money are able to go out and spend £20m on a single player then expect clubs like Stoke to fork out inflated fees for their surplus players - I am thinking here about Liverpool and Assaidi. We have done some early business this summer at minimal cost in terms of transfer fees and have acquired some added quality to the squad. Maybe a 'marquee' signing could yet happen, we will have to wait and see.

Keeping hold of Bego, Ryan, Arnie would, in itself, represent good business

I don't think we will ever make a big signing (transfer fee wise) in any position except for a striker.

Perhaps I have been naive in attacking Stoke's seemingly skinflint policy regarding acquiring new players. Is it possible we are simply making sure that we don't break UEFA or is it FIFA financial regulations relating to Champions League competition , that we are surely heading for soon.
And why is my rep power still less than 10 million ?

our wage bill for last year was 58 million, we got 69 million for staying up. With the 4 players we have signed we will actually have to sell some to keep our heads above water. Coates wont invest anymore and rightly so, we need to be able stand on our own 2 feet. this is why imo last season was so impressive as I think that was the peak of what we could achieve with the money we have. Let other clubs spend beyond their means but lets not get dragged down with them.

Excellent composition SIS , good to see you so cheerful. All the best mate.

When " La Ligue de Europa Futbull " is formed , it will be by invitation only. The only teams invited will be those that can attract the largest tv audience.

Which league will Stoke City be in ? At the moment we can see a good number of top class players , but if we don't invest we stagnate , and what class of football will we be watching if we don't manage to become one of the teams that the world wants to watch ?
Don't get me wrong , I am not a glory hunter , but Stoke has been my team for sixty years and I want the best for them. Perhaps we need new owners who will be better able to sieze the opportunity and market Stoke in a more successful way.
