I wasnt so keen when I first heard about this show. We must have got a lot of money for it. But if he turns out to be a good talent, I'll be happy with it. I suppose it is no different from scouting teenagers from Brazil.
Liverpool have handed a contract to 16-year-old Turkish midfielder Emin Altunay. The youngster won a football-based reality show in his home country. The show Futbol Prensi was set up on the channel TRT for youngsters between the ages of 14 and 16 to demonstate their talent. Altunay, who played against a selected squad of Liverpool youth players during the show, is now being given his chance with the Merseyside giants. He said: 'I've been playing football since I was four years old. I've always wanted to play football, I want to thank everyone who has given me this opportunity, I won't let them down.' Liverpool are next in action at Sunderland this weekend, looking to record their first league win of the season. An opening day defeat at West Bromwich Albion was followed by a 2-2 draw against champions Manchester City at Anfield, and a 2-0 home defeat against old rivals Arsenal.
