Dick Advocaat isn’t the only new arrival at the Stadium of Light... The Dutchman has assembled his coaching team ahead of the final stages of the Barclays Premier League season, with Zeljko Petrovic and Adrian Tucker taking up coaching duties along with academy coach Paul Bracewell. Zeljko Petrovic Zeljko Petrovic will undertake the role of first-team coach. Petrovic began his playing career with Montenegrin side Budućnost Titograd, spending three years with the club before moving to Dinamo Zagreb ahead of the 1990-91 season. He played alongside Diego Maradona during his time with Sevilla and also enjoyed spells with Den Bosh, RKC, PSV and Urawa Red Diamonds, before returning to RKC where he ended his playing career. Petrovic also made 18 appearances for Yugoslavia. His coaching career started at Boavista before a return to RKC, and he has since enjoyed spells as an assistant with Hamburg, West Ham United, Anzhi Makhachkala and Serbia, as well as tenures with Urawa Red Diamonds and Al-Shaab. Adrian Tucker Adrian Tucker will assume the position of goalkeeping coach. Tucker played for Torquay United, Inter Cardiff, Ton Pentre, Ebbw Vale and Port Talbot Town among others. His professional career was dashed by injury but he remained within the sport working for the Welsh FA’s technical department, before taking charge of Wales Women for a three-year spell from 2007. In 2009 Tucker joined Swansea City as goalkeeping coach under Paulo Sousa, and remained with the Swans under Brendan Rodgers as they secured promotion to the Barclays Premier League. He left the Liberty Stadium in June 2014 and has since worked with England’s U20s and Birmingham City. Paul Bracewell Meanwhile, former Sunderland midfielder and current academy coach Paul Bracewell will also assist the backroom staff. Bracewell started his playing career with Stoke City progressing through the ranks before going on to make 141 appearances for the club. He joined Sunderland in June 1983 but he moved to Everton following one season on Wearside, before returning to Roker Park in 1989. A three-year spell with Newcastle United followed before a third spell at Sunderland, which came to an end in 1997 when he moved to Fulham where he would see out his playing career. Bracewell, who won three caps for England, has since managed Fulham and Halifax Town, before returning to Wearside to work with the club’s academy.
