Each must have a valid reason, so why did they chose to come here? Was it Slade's charisma that swung it, or were there other more telling factors?

Immers had made no secret in Holland this season that he wanted out and would grab a chance of playing in the English game. If you listen to Slade, we've been looking at him for some time but it was the transfer embargo that pushed the loan offer - without that we could well have gone elsewhere. When it was made, he jumped at it.

Zohore is a bit of a mystery. I doubt Slade had ever heard of him so it must have been scout reports - just hope it wasn't the same Danish ones that proposed Corny. As to Zohore himself, again it's a chance at the "big time" if you can call it that to play in the English tiers. I doubt it was Slade's persuasive powers - more of an opportunity that presented itself.

Now we come to Lawrence. He had options at half a dozen Championship clubs but he came to us - why? Big suggestions going around that it was Trollope that was the real reason. His role with the Welsh National team and Lawrence's admitted desperation to play in the Euro's this summer made the decision for him. He wanted to get up close and personal.

All speculation but motives can be far more than just money orientated.

I think you're right in each case Sparks. However, the difference between these and the previous crops of loanees is that they all want to play and show what they can do in our leagues. They all have ambition as opposed to the likes of Zaha and Morrison who were just going through the motions with no real desire to do well with us.

Lawrence is slightly different as he wants to showcase himself for the Euros and with Trollope here it is a great opportunity for him.

Zohore is the mystery package. While Immers and Lawrence have played at reasonably high levels, he has not. He may turn out to be a gem, he may be a donkey - but at least he hasn't cost us £8m and ridiculous wages and we can send him back from whence he came without losing much money. As ever, I hope he is a gem and can help us recoup some of the losses of money, status and face from the Cornelius debacle.

Saturday's selection will be one of the most interesting for some time. With the exception of Noone for Ameobi and a choice between Peltier and Fabio (I think Peltier's ban was 1 game for 2 yellows) I don't think he will alter last Saturday's winning starting 11. Lawrence to come on second half from the bench by which time MK Dons should be tiring after their exertions of last weekend. It will be a game to early for Morrison to be considered to start but he could be on the bench.

I agree with BfB, they all want to play and show what they can do in our league.

That's enough for me, not too fussed if Slade or other factors was the reason they came.

As for our newbie, I'm not to happy that BfB upset him.<steam>

    That's my job.<laugh>

Dai - the fact that they want to play doesn't explain why they actually came here unless it was their only choice.

Immers had dropped down the pecking order and couldn't get a game at Feynoord, and Lawrence was pretty pissed off about the lack of game time Lambert was giving him at Blackburn. Both wanted to get on the pitch but they had other choices - loads in Lawrence's case, but why come us in particular.

As for Zohore - well I just don't know what to think. He was playing regularly for Odense this season and doing pretty well, so it wasn't lack of game time.

I agree that if they all turn out to be what we need, we'll all be very happy and won't give a monkeys as to their reasons - still interesting though.

On the subject of our friend from yesterday, I was going to give you a shout Dai - but he pissed off before I got round to it.......<laugh>

I agree with most of the above. But Bfb is totally wrong, Zaha wasn't even going through the motions. He was taking the piss.

Would never insult anyone from Sarn. I've got to run around Aberkenfig, Ynysawdre and Sarn once a month and would like to avoid having rocks thrown at me. We get enough verbal abuse from the kids by the chip shop.

Very true HB. I was too generous although going through the motions perfectly described his sh!tty performances.

Always look forward to seeing new bluebirds play.

Revell cannot play though - that is a shame:sad:
