This time next week we will know whether we face a season of strife or whether we are gonna be competitive in the big league. This week could turn out to be the most important of the summer as Warnock attempts to bring in the players we all know we desperately need. In all honesty I'll be surprised if any that require fees will arrive.

It would seem that the 'takeover' was really just another publicity stunt to take the heat off the Goons and, once again, give false hope to the 'mushrooms' as Rodney so eloquently describes us. Fernandez 20% isn't gonna make much difference if Flav is dictating who comes and goes as he has done so far.

The sponsors (if there are any) and new shirts should be unveiled this week, let's hope the 'mushrooms' keep their hands in their pockets and boycott the merchandise so these parasites get the message. I've tried to remain optimistic through the summer but events of the past ten days or so have made me even angrier and totally disillusioned with everything to do with the club. All-in-all I don't expect to feel much different this time next week, unless it's even angrier!

Angry mushrooms can be very dangerous...

Sooper, I think your timescale is unrealistic it doesn't matter what happens next week as it will far too soon to act as indicator of how the season will turn out, personally I think we will get beaten by Bolton as our side is far from settled, and I believe by the end of September/ mid October we will have an inkling on how the season may go, but we all know everything can still change after the January transfer window.

Keep the faith as I believe in NW IMO could have had the success of any top manager if he was ever given the oppertuities, man management does not grow on tree's and I think he is the best in the business.

The point I'm making is with the kick-off coming we are looking desperately short of what is required to match the other teams we expect to be bottom six, ie Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Norwich & Swansea with ourselves making up the six. Our early fixtures could have given us the platform to make a decent start and we seem likely to miss that opportunity with the lack of transfer activity. I'm banking on Warnock's managerial nous to give us a chance but how many miracles can the guy work?

I agree with this as statement but still think it is a too early to get despondent, but having said I think this is an oppertuity and the one thing we had last year was a good pre-season with all our new players given time to gel this year it looks like any more new players will have to gel with the season already startred and I am worried about that.

Hope to hear a a chorus of "Goons Out" or the equivalent from the boys at the Loftus End - if the ownership issue isn't sorted soon, the Indian flags should come out at all our games to encourage the Mittals

I think the fact we're not facing any of the "big" teams in the first few games could actually work against us! It often takes 4 or 5 games at least for a new team to gel, so it may not have been the end of the world to have had united and city in the first six!!
We really need to get points from a lot of the first few games, as these are the teams we will be closest to. We may not get going as a team, if we do, till we're playing the big boys!!
