Well according to the post Del is going to be given funds in January to strengthen the team, the board is backing their man with further money.

So we all better get used to it come what may.

I really hope it turns around ,the top brass are confident he is the man for the job, let's hope he can start convincing and showing the doubters he is the man for job.

Here's to three points on Saturday as a starter please.

I think it's clear Mciness is hear for the long term, come rain or shine. But If he buys more richard fosters and jody morris's then we are only heading one way.. down

This is the biggest window for Mciness in his tenure, if he gets it wrong he will probably lose his job.

To be fair I think most (if not all) of the signings are an improvement on what we had - but maybe he didn't realise how much better the Championship is compared to the Scottish Prem (aside from Celtic). I hope he only brings in 2 top players instead of 4-5 slightly above average players. ideally a good captain/leader who's a defender (to organise our defence and give the rest of the team a kick up the arse; and one top quality midfielder.

Don't get too excited tho, I suspect the post have got it wrong - he probably needs to shift a few first before spending any more, and even then he'll be restricted with wages.

Turning this club's fortunes around is like turning an oil tanker round.

We started braking this time last year, slowed in the summer and should just about have come to a halt shortly after the next window.

From that point onwards, the momentum should be forwards...

I said this in the summer, as much as I don't want it to happen I suspect it will be Albert that is sold to raise bigger funds and then Anderson will be played on the right. I know Anderson likes to play left but to get game time and with him being right footed it won't surprise me.
With the funds then available we could get a good priced defender along with I hope Danns and a tidy defensive midfielder.

I thought the club's directive was to decrease salaries and improve player performances but all I see is the potential to increase both wages and staff. It seems to me that the old adage of the more players you have on staff the better the chance of success, and if there is any club who have proved that wrong for 5 seasons then you must see Bristol City.

I am really starting to lose patience with the top brass at BCFC particularly when I see losses increasing every year and the same old problems clearly evident to all and sundry and they still don't get the message. How much longer do we have to suffer the ongoing lack of commitment to the supporters who are getting tired of the same old rhetoric year in and year out. The results on the pitch only go to highlight the problems that aren't being addressed, such as the midfield general that we all know has been needed for at least 5 years now.

Will anybody ever hear the noise that is the resounding crash that is heading our way or will they continue to bury their collective heads in the sand as per usual. Patience is running out for a lot of people and a long dark and gloomy winter is heading our way unless things change for the better in the near future.

Wake up everybody at Ashton Gate and realise that you are running a football club that is loved by many great supporters and you are failing badly in the customer service department and you need to fix it now.

Do us all a big favour and find out how to run a good football club - you know it makes sense.

He has enough players, enough coaches already to do a far better job. He has wasted millions so far.

The Post are simply reporting what Derek Mcinnes said at last weeks Supporter's meeting. He said he was looking to bring some in and maybe some out.
It was clear to me from evrything I heard on the I-Player coverage of that meeting , that Derek McInnes is here for the foreseeable future and that the board and SL will continue to back him with funds in January.

As for "wasting millions" from what was said at that meeting, the fees paid for Cunningham, Davies and Baldock were a lot less than many people have guessed at on here and other City boards.
The major cost of players is now not the transfer fee, but the annual salary including bonuses.
It seemed apparent from that meeting that individual salaries are falling due not only to the FFP but probably also because of the current financial situation in the country.
DMC said that one player he was interested in said "Put another two grand on the package and I'll sign" In times past we probably would have paid up but perhaps the situation is turning slowly in favour of the clubs.

If Swansea offer that we should snatch their hands off
Some of the "ins" maybe permanent deals for McManus (leader) and Danns

Let Albert go and lets shore up the rest of the team and climb away from danger.

100% agree with you,the quality of players already here should not be any where near the bottom of the table.
That concerns me the most, why has he not got these guys already playing to their ability:confused:

Not much wrong with Foster that a little extra confidence wouldnt fix
Morris and Anderson was a baffling move, but Pearson was a definite success far as I can see.
Its the defensive spine of our team which needs good money and inspiration from Del and SL.
But then we all know that

I am still unsure on McManus if I am honest. Whilst I do not get too games anymore, I never felt he was that good last season. If I remember correctly his spell was when we were shipping in 3 goals a game every game, and it was only once he was recalled and we got Bikey in,that we shored up the defence? (Although credit to Gerks and Jamie Mac as well for that)

This season, he has failed to grip the defence and lead them at all, OK he is probably a better defender than Tangled feet or Fonts, but that is not saying much really is it, especially as he is almost certainly one of, if not the top earner at the club!!

As I say I am not sure we are getting value for money from him

If he's in it for the long haul then all we can do is back him. Lets make some noise and get behind the boys Saturday.
