It's easy to support a 'big club' who win things every year, but to support a club like QPR with all the ups and downs we have had and spending 15 years in lower divisions (yet we still turn up home and away each week) makes our club special. I have always gone on about our away support and for the size of the club how good it really is. For me a don't think you can beat a QPR away day. So when i read this it makes me feel really proud to be a QPR fan. http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2771747,00.html
There have been times in the past where I wished our crowd could be more passionate. Not this season. It is not unfair to say that our home support has been every bit as important to our staying up than the team itself and I shall long remember the sight of Arse and Scum players desperate to avoid taking corners in front of the Loft. We need that new stadium - we can't grow without it - but we need to somehow retain that intimacy and intimidation a capacity crowd at Loftus Road delivers.
At home it's expected and hugely effective but the away support has been phenominal. Invariably hear Rs chants over home support - even at top grounds.
I had to be there yesterday, our support was brilliant. For those not fortunate enough or unable to be at the game yesterday there was no internet / txt / phone availability in the Etihad at all and it was complete chaos with rumours spreading about the scores elsewhere. Hence all of the cheering when we thought Stoke were 4 nil up or some other bollox At half time the word was that Stoke Bolton was 2-2 which it wasn't. Bloke behind me with a radio was knocked over and mobbed when he shouted Stoke had equalised. Great game, not many chances to sing 'how **** must you be, we're winning away' at Man City. All in it was brilliant
QPR fans were superb before during & after Can't stand hughes but delighted for sweep and ned,who was excellent yesterday
Don't quite get that mate. Watching on TV our fans were celebrating Stoke's first goal and then it was confirmed by Sky. There was a massive roar when the stoke penalty went in too. Quite a few must have been in touch somehow!!
Agree totally. What was annoying was Sky took an age to confirm both Stoke goals - only putting it up on screen a good few minutes after the Rs fans could be heard going nuts. You'd think Sky of all people would flash it up instantly. And no replay of Barton's elbow either! A pivotal incident in the game and I only saw one too rapid, inconclusive replay.
