At the game on out 20 minutes before kick off, I realised that I had forgotten my sweets which I keep in my pocket. I am a type 1 diabetic who relies on my insulin pump and, in stressful situations, often find my blood sugar dropping. I went to go to one of the places to by some, asked a steward and a woman overheard me ask and explain my reasons. She said “you’re type 1 diabetic. I have some sweets” and proceeded to hand me a bag of haribos. Amazing gesture from that lady. If anybody knows of something did this, let them know how grateful I am. And tell them I’ll happily drop them a bag of Haribos just to thank them personally!
Sometimes, the smallest act of kindness can mean the world to someone. It costs nowt to be kind (well, a bag of Haribos in this case), but it genuinely can make someone's day.
I take it that was a typo, bag, when you meant box and some chocolates, flowers and a bottle of wine. This predictive text eh...
Not sure about that. Think the wife may say something about me buying another person flowers and chocolates!!
Not on the same scale, at all, but I was on the Oxford Circus tube station, after the game, and could see a nicely dressed lady marching up to me. 'I've just come over to say I live in London and you're the best bunch of fans I've ever seen down here.' I'm not usually stuck for words but, after the emotion of the game, I've no idea what I blathered out
I was stood next to you Smug if you recall, and I spotted the glint in your eye, heard you charm her away with small talk, and I just thought to myself "there's life in the old soldier yet"
I can't recall everything from the weekend tbh I do recall meeting you and Holly, it was a real pleasure mate.
