Anyone near the end of their contract will simply wait until the summer as they will command a greater cash windfall. If a player could be persuaded it will surely be just for the money.... something we won't pay...... and so the cycle continues.... Add to this a team playing sh1t.... fans on their backs..... the club starting to go all defensive again..... and we have another reason players will find to say 'no'. To be fair, it's not that's bad is it? It's just a normal transfer window. Just think, Penfold hasn't bought any 2nd rate Frenchmen yet or wasted any of Mike's hard earned cash on the likes of that Austin bloke from down London way. So its not all doom and gloom......
