Based on the pre season friendlies and likely departures, our starting line up v Bury is: Phillips Solly Fox Konsa Johnson Jackson Crofts Harriott Holmes Ajose Novak There are a couple of assumptions in there - Konsa playing CH still, because there is nobody else, and Novak playing in a plaster with his broken hand Thoughts on that line up? Personally I think it looks thinner than Twiggy's bum. Imagine what a team without a top 6 budget would look like
Konsa's probably our best prospect, he'll be in the shop window now ready for the January sale. There are 4 players in there that I've never seen. I'm sure the Harriotts would be gone if there had been any interest. Phillips wants to go back to Cheltenham. Jacko- a season too far?
I don't think its a season too far with Jacko FHB- but I'd rather use him in a part time role and best used for a 3 man CM midfield. He hasn't been able to do it for 2/3 years in the Champ in a 2 man CM so why do we think he'd be any different two years older with journeyman Crofts?
i think 5500 people have been duped into thinking we'd have a half decent team this season. once the cash was handed over, the half decent players were asset stripped. dont know whether to laugh at the 5500 for thinking KM has changed her ways, or cry, as it looks like we're in for a relegation scrap.
So we are set to get 2 Liam players from Norwich and everyone reject and free agent Anton Ferdinand on a free transfer tests 3 of our 5 or 6 new signings
Loads of transfer rumours flying about today West Ham want Morgan Fox Charlton want Declan Rudd and Lewis Thompson on loan from Norwich We are competing with Preston for Anton Ferdinand's signature
Unfortunately, League 1 rules are different to Championship as you can only spend 60% of your turnover on wages. Although you have sold 5000 ST's, a lot of these were for the bargain bucket price of £175 - our cheapest ST's are £475 and we have sold roughly the same as you - seems you will not get your top 6 budget unless your ST sales double - Bradford & Sheff Utd averaged over 17,000 last year so should comfortably have the highest wages
When you take into account the amount we're paying for other clubs to play OUR players it puts us at an even bigger disadvantage. I can't imagine there's another club in L1 struggling under this burden.
Interesting comments from Norwich Chairman Ed Balls this morning, after he appointed Jez Moxly as the club's new CEO. "From an outstanding shortlist of candidates, Jez demonstrated the leadership skills and business acumen that Norwich need" Would anyone other than RD say anything similar about Katrien Meire
Rich Cawley is (again) predicting a lot of transfer activity at Charlton this week. My predictions: Out - Teixera 500k aka "undisclosed" Lookman 1.5m aka "undisclosed" ,but maybe loaned back to us In: Journeyman keeper on loan Foley - poor man's Kinsella freebie 5'3 midget - 1 year contract.
Ceballos has gone to St Truiden. Can't say I'm disappointed, but it's another body out the door. The average age of our match day squads will be about 18 - and that's with old duffers like Foley, Crofts and Johnson.
We're going nowhere pretty quickly. Think C.A.R.D should instantly be on the protests. Force them to sign players via protest action before it's too late and August is over.
I remember when we signed him, & a few thought that because he was "ex Spurs" he must be decent. It soon became obvious that he was another Reza/ Tucadean - a swarthy wannabe playboy more interested in non football matters. Says it all that the only way RD could offload him was to shift him to another of his failing clubs.
Never understood the hysteria around Cellabos. Understood it less when people thought he would tear it up this season. As Don says - I'm not bothered, but 1) it's a body out the door. 2) more alarmingly - we're already "balancing the books"
To be fair he did play five games didn't he? I don't think I saw him enough to decide. But like everyone else, I'm not bothered
