since the last one etc etc the boys are really fired up for this etc training has been really good this week etc we'll leave everything on the pitch etc just trotting out what we'll hear this week before getting beat 2-0 and Barton sent off. ( he's due isn't he?!)
Yeah why would we want to hear that rubbish when we could give up and trot out a load of negative comments and forum posts. In fact I'll ditch my tickets for the game and go to ikea instead! For the avoidance of doubt I support QPR whatever their position and will retain optimism until impossible. With that in mind stuff ikea and I'll be there singing my heart out and definitely no booing of my team!
people need to lighten up ffs! some of you take yourself way too seriously and you wonder why this forum is losing posters?!?
It's nothing personal mate it's just there is so much negative stuff at the moment it's quite depressing. It creates a general feeling of doom and gloom and hope gone. It would be foolish to think that it doesn't rub off on players or assume they don't read these forums. The mental aspect to sport is huge and I would rather generate positive feeling that helps breed confidence. If we get to a point where players are worried about being booed and abused for making an error they stop trying, then they don't want the ball then we really are gone.
Genuinely don't know where you're coming from on this inkedup. If your op was a subtle dig at the pessimists then you've just shot the optimists down. If it wasn't then we should expect the worst but lighten up?
I agree with some of your post, however you have to consider the reasons as to why some fans are being so negative, all the money they pay etc, and compare it to how our team is currently playing. You also mentioned that players will stop trying, when I think a general lack of heart from the players themselves, is the reason why some fans are being so negative in the first place.
It's all fine, everybody has the right to post whatever they like and it's easy to see why so many of us seem increasingly angry. But we don't all have to join in. Genuinely confused by Inky's intent with the OP though.
I know exactly where inkedupp is coming from here. Every week we get the same old pre-match formulative spiel, and quite frankly I'd rather not hear it. I'd rather we didn't hear from them at all and they did their talking on the pitch. For instance, prior to the Blackburn game I read interviews featuring Buzsaky and how he was going to prove to Sparky what a great asset he was, and how he now felt confident to perform week in week out for the Rs.. blah blah blah. Thats the minimum I expect anyway, that's why I pay £35-£50 odd quid to watch them. He turns up at Ewood Park and performed like Tiny Tim on an ice skating rink. Fecking useless. Tommy Smiths interview today ( see elsewhere on here to read it ) was more honest and refreshing to read and showed that he cared. But as far as the other predictable stuff goes, they can poke it.
Fair enough 999, but why post that op then, when people react positively, shoot them down and tell them to "lighten up". I don't get it? It's bizarre.
I think it may of become somewhat misconstrued. As someone mentioned earlier, it maybe an attempt at humour that got lost in translation. The trouble is, is that a lot of people are feeling anxious and bewildered of late. We're bound to get a lot of left-field posts from normally reliable posters ( myself included. ) I think that if we read something that might be posted by a regular contributor that doesn't come across well, it might be best to let it pass. Especially as we see more wums come onto the board as the trap-door eventually beckons. We're best saving our retorts for them, or as I try to do, agree with them.
Not saying he's a wum by any means. He's not. I'm just not following the logic of the thread. And not nit-picking either. Just bemused. I don't know what point he's trying to make?
I'm not saying he's a wum, I'm just saying that maybe he's fed up of players promising to deliver and then don't. Although I do agree that the title of the post is mis-leading. ( I didn't expect to read what I did when I opened it. ) But hey Telford, we're not all Shakespeares on here.
