To do well in football you need to win a very high percentage of your home games. Manchester United last season won less than eight games away and yet won the league because of their home form.If you cannot beat teams in the bottom half of the table on your home ground forget the top four finish. When was the last time Liverpool won fourteen games or more at home and under which manager.? 1.Kenny Dalglish 2.Graham Souness 3.Roy Evans 4.Rafa Benitez 6.None of these~please name. Sometime your home form may not be that good, but you need to do very well on your travels.
Under Rafa in 2006-2007. 14 wins,4 draws,1 loss. Pretty sure under rafa we had a mean home record just on the travels it was always playing for a draw or nick a goal.
Yes and i believe we were getting too many draws then, sort of similar situation to what we are getting now.
Our away record was the problem of not winning the league then.We lost to Tothenham and Bolton..and too many draws.
We had 3 points more than Man Utd on the road. Our problem was our home record. We got 43 pts away from home and 43 pts at home. Mancs got 40 pts away from home and 50 pts at home. We were the only club that beat them at Old Toilet that season, and there were only 2 draws there. They won 16 games at home. In contrast we only won 12 at home and drew 7.
