Call me a mad 'ed but when Michu is available and/if everyone else is fit I'd be interested to see the following team.

    ---------------Vorm----------------

    Rangel----Chico----Williams----Davies*/Taylor*

    ----------Leon------Michu----------

    Dyer-----------Pablo------------Routledge

    --------------Wilfried-----------------

    *Dependant on opposition/result needed.

Michu could still carry his goal threat making Shelvey esque runs and from set pieces and is certainly up for a fight, he's always tackling back. He would also provide a good 'target man' in midfield and it's a position he's played for years.

Also, while Michu carries more of a goal threat in my opinion Pablo is better at linking up with our other forward players.

    Thoughts? Pick your own 11.

EDIT - Especially at the Liberty Stadium against 'weaker' opposition. At the end of the day I'll back whatever team the leader decides.

Interesting that only Bony makes it into your team from any of this seasons signings.....no Cañas, Amat, Shelvey, Pozuelo, Vasquez!

    Vorm
    Rangel-Chico-Williams-Davies
    Shelvey-Canas
    Dyer-Michu-Hernandez
    Bony
This would hurt any opposition. I'm fed up with Routledge, and I see Canas as more defensive than Britton, allowing me to put Shelvey in the side too...

That's what the bench is for, if Alvaro is lucky. <ok>

I'm a fan of the rest.

I don't think Routs has had the best of seasons but he's improved in the last couple of months and was outstanding in our first Premier League season despite limited game time, he had ten assists, more than Sinclair + Dyer and Danny Graham missed another 10. He's faster than Pablo and if he can provide more balls into Wilfried like he did at Old Trafford he's worth his place.

The only alternative to Routledge on left wing is either Pablo who's slow as f*ck or Roland Lamah.

Why Canas over Leon? Leon was certainly the better of the 2 last night and he still reads the game better. <ok> And I'm a fan of Canas too.

I agree that we need to mix it up a little.

But the Premier League has to be the #1 priority.

It's worth remembering CM's a position Michu played for many years so even if you think I'm talking **** he'd be a better option than Jordi Amat at least. :cheesy:

He could certainly 'link up' well every bit as good as De Guzman does, even Shelvey.

Michu is a goalscorer, all talk about using him in central midfield is nonsense...

I find it impossible to pick a best eleven from our squad, so that's pleasing as it shows the strength in depth we have. I could probably pick our best 16 or 17 and they would all be capable of making a strong 1st eleven.

I rate Canas, but he's nowhere near as important as Leon. Leon should be the first name on the team sheet regardless of who is fit <ok>

That would be my line up, with them playing a 4-2-3-1 formation in attack with Michu and the wingers dropping back to creating a 4-5-1 when without the ball to flood the middle of the park.

Many of his ex managers in Spain must have been full on mental then.

I still believe he would carry a goal threat from that position. As I said, it's an opinion.

Why, in your opinion, is Canas MORE defensive than Leon?

It looks like a tidy team but considering the form of my boy Pablo it would be gutting to see him left out.

Fair point that I don't think even opposition managers know who we're going to line up with. <ok>

It's my gut feeling that if deployed in JDG's 'link up' role he would also have 90%+ pass completion stats too, and in my opinion he wouldn't do any worse defensively than JDG.

It's a subjective thing. I believe his marking skills are better and he tends to stay back more than Leon (who used to be an attacking player?). Canas is like Viera and Britton is mre like Pirlo; if I have to make top drawer comparisons. Shelvey needs defensive backup to make up for the errors he's bound to make, due to his style of play. Britton is a fine player, but as a playmaker I'd rather have Shelvey in tha side than him... We all know Michu isn't going to score 10+ goals from defensive midfield.
