    Is all down to Perch.

Since he came on against Chelsea we've conceded 9 goals in 4 games.

I genuinely believe that it's all his fault.

I'd sooner play a duck at centre back, honestly.

If we're going to pin the blame on one player for tonight's loss it should be Coloccini. He was **** all night. For any player that's unacceptable, but for the captain it's even moreso.

I dont think is because of Perch, its because we lost Saylor. He was on top form and one of the main reasons why we were conceding so little. Also, we've had a typical Newcastle injury crisis. I wouldn't just blame Perch though, he's actually been good for us.

It's not Perch, it's the lack of Steven Taylor.

This. People who want to make Perch the scapegoat for every bad performance are sticking their heads in the sand. Colo was the problem tonight.

I know Colo was ****e, but you can't ignore the fact that we've conceded so much with Perch at the back. Colo is having to do twice as much to cover up for him. I've not been a perpetual Perch basher, but I've had enough after that. He was terrible tonight.

It's because we renamed our stadium, haven't won since then.

Did I say that? Have I blamed him for every bad performance? If you check my previous posts you'll see this is the first time. And yes, Colo was awful.

Joke of a thread TBH .. He has performed really well since he's come in (apart from not being able to deal with the set piece bombardment from Norwich) .. remember he was known as a right back for us when he signed so really he's playing out of position as well .. i really thing he played better than Colo tonight .. Its fans like you that ruin a players confidence and drive them out of a club .. give him a break eh

Yeah, Perch hasn't been great, I'm not trying to claim that. That still doesn't change the fact that Coloccini, as team captain and the only recognised centreback on the pitch, was not pulling his weight tonight.

The whole team, with the exception of Ba and Vuckic, were dreadful tonight, so I don't think it's right to single out one player as the reason for the loss, but if you were to do so then Coloccini would deserve that far more than Perch or anyone else on the pitch.

I agree most people are only noticing the fact Perch was nowhere to be seen while Colo tried to defend on his own tonight. Perch can't mark ffs.

For the second goal Coloccini decided to just stand around doing nothing. Perch might be **** but at least he put in some ****ing effort.

Vuckic did play well though, suppose that's a positive.

Colo was beat for pace a few times, but Perch lost his man in two of their three goals. Both played poor but Colo has been sensational this season so we can allow him the occasional off game. How Perch is paid to do that is beyond me.

Gonna change the direction of this thread and ask: Is Coloccini only any good when he has an immense centre half like Taylor along side him to cover for his frailties? We saw an equally **** performance in the League Cup vs Blackburn when Taylor wasn't there?
