......... will be phenomenal, considering our recent lack of success, why is that? A) Committed support and a continuation of family traditions of which we should all be proud B) Blind faith which is paradoxically detrimental to the club C) A show of faith to encourage investment by the club and effort from the players D) Nowt better to do in the North East E) A message to the rest of football that we don't give up after a setback or protest at the drop of a hat
Mixture of the first three for me mate. Mainly A. A little bit of B. A lot of C. I'd consider any individual who goes by E to be a bit of a conceited twat with an inflated sense of self importance personally.
I'd agree but I'd have to say that there is a defiant streak, atSunderland, as was shown by the way the supporters continued to sing last week. Part of the reason I've decided to go tomorrow is because it's easier not to, if you get my drift.
My point, I suppose, is that loads of people turn up every week to support the club. We do our best, despite little to cheer about, and that's how it should be. If the players could match our commitment and dedication you wouldn't be able to get in the ground.
DNA testing for criminals etc these days is very popular. I always think if a doctor did a test of DNA Sunderland fans would show up under the microscope resembling red and white stripes. It's in our blood. The drama and crisis of Sunderland just comes with the territory. Lose 8 - 0 win 8 - 0 does it really matter anymore....lol? I suppose we are all married to Sunderland football club....in sickness and health.....better and for worse.....amen
Think we will get over the 40000 mark cos it's Arsenal. I honestly believe if it had been Burnley, Leicester or Palace, no disrespect to them clubs, we would have lost 5000 or so after last weeks debacle. Having said that you get over what was in effect three point lost and move on and get behind Ya club again I'll be there.
Personally, I would prefer a lower crowd that was fanatically supportive than a big crowd who mainly sit on their collective arses with their arms folded..
That's why I set up digs in U17. I don't go to matches to get frustrated by passionless twats, I go to cheer on the lads. It boils my blood Raw, you get told to shut up if you make too much noise in the wrong place.
Going back a few years to our record low points season, I ended up nearly coming to blows with someone for the very same thing..
My passion has got me in bother with stewards and fans. I'll still be there today shouting for the lads.
