So far this season we have had seven home draws in both cup competitions, I've never known us too have such a run of home games in the cups. Our fixture list for late February early March now looks frighteningly difficult, City (away) thanks to today's draw we have Southampton (home), Arsenal (away), City in the Cup Final, then Liverpool (away). Then chuck in the Derby and relegation six pointers against Stoke and Hull, for those who thought our run of home games against the top clubs was daunting (and I was one of them) the coming weeks will tell how our season is going to pan out., It's pleasing that we are on a good run away from home , we just have to keep it going, and that's going to be a tough ask IMO. Fingers and Toes are crossed already.
I'm less worried now than before. I can see us winning against Stoke & Hull and we should be good for the odd point in some of the aways. Everyone else has the same teams to play at some stage and our home games are now the key to survival. 4th bottom and a League Cup win would be a helluva season after our appalling start
i foresee 3 points off stoke as they were ****e today, another win at the wongadrome, 3 points v the tigers, a cup final win, loss at city prior, spanked at the dippers, edge past southampton then i go blank
anything could happen in among that lot! Hope injuries don`t come into the equation, we`ve been lucky up to now.
I know what your saying Sid, but it is our home form that worries me, or should I say our home form in the league,ie, Villa and Norwich, we struggled yesterday for whatever reason and I hope Fletcher starts showing some interest and gets back to scoring goals (Iv'e given up on Jozy I'm afraid). If we can get six points from Stoke and Hull then we can go into this away run of fixtures in a better frame of mind.
Stoke are usually tough, but we should be beating Hull. They're a decent side, but nowt special if you mark Huddlestone out of their midfield.
Stoke were ****e at their place and look woeful under Hughes today. Hull are piss poor full stop. I foresee 6 points against them both, a draw at filth park and another cup quarter final in this amazing, roller coaster of all roller coaster seasons.
I agree Para, some of our relegation rivals are adding to their squads, Cardiff are in for three tomorrow, Hull have their two new strikers (who I hope don't open their accounts in our upcoming game), Stoke are adding Odemwingy,(spelling) we seem to be the only ones not adding to our striking capabilities and if we don't by the end of the transfer window then I hope it dosent come back to bite us in the arse.
Grandpops, I think it is now vital we keep Wes Brown fit until the end of the season despite singing our new Virgin, I still worry that our forwards are not getting enough goals. That must be Gus's priority.
Kenwyne Jones? 100% no from me. Fabio? 200% no fromm me. Odemwinge? 100% no from me. Zaha? Might be alright as a sub but would you drop Borini or Johnson to play him? 100% no. I want Gus to bring in new players but not has beens or wannabes like this.
rumblings all over the jungle, cant make head nor fist of it atm, stopped posting transfer rumours of late as i cant seem to get a grip, so i guess what i'm saying is your right, there's a storm brewing
It been a canny run of home games. If we draw at home next round (should we progress) then we've been drawn at home every round possible. Has that ever happened before?
grandpops, would you bring CW back from his loan at Shef.Wed.???I think the fact he has been scoring goals will have given him some confidence, and we could give him a good run of games, replacing Dozy!!
