basicly fat mike and llambias managed to reduce wages so we werent crippled by reduced revenue, looks like they got the right balance between cutting costs and keeping a strong enough squad for promotion

I think I am right in saying we made a net loss of approximately 22million last year, which is understandable, given the wages we were paying on Championship revenue.

In the relegation season we lost around 12million, but the TV revenue for example was double what it was last year so its difficult to compare. The accounts next year will give a more clear representation and comparison with 08/09 season as we will have spent each season in the PL.

If we had kept on many more players on big money we might consider ourselves lucky to not be in administration. Ashley spent nearly £500,000 a week keeping us afloat in the CCC (and Llambias said Keegan tried to get 26mil out of us in the court case). If we hadnt got promoted we might be looking at Boro's current position with envy as well (would have sold everyone on even remotely high wages)...

Also if we didnt have such brilliant fans our turnover would be much, much lower of course.

Until OT comes on, I'll try my best...As far as I can see, the figures are fairly unimportant 'cause they're based on our Championship season so they don't show great reading BUT put into context of our now increased revenue from TV and sponsorship we're looking pretty healthy.

Had we been relegated with Shephard we'd have been well and truly ****ed...As much as it hurts to admit, Ashley did a lot of sensible things (when we wasn't doing stupid ones).

It's great, as much as Cashley has made some monumental **** ups his business head is screwed on. He wants to make big bucks, you can cash in on the odd andy carroll or jose enrique (hope not) but he'll know fine well all the megabucks are in European football and we aren't as far off that as alot of people think. Basically, we'll benefit from each others desires. European football = wads of cash <ok>
