Stats are often said to mean nothing, but this one hurts

Ki Sung-Yueng was the second of those midfielders whipped off in the first half, with next to no steel emerging from the side’s core.

In 40 minutes, the South Korean managed just seven completed passes from 11 attempts and attempted no tackles, headers, interceptions or take-ons in the dubious cameo.

Colback, Bardo and Alonso also made the list, but Ki's stats hurt the most imo

Don't know whats happened with Ki, for a long time he was vital, but lately he's off the boil, probably just a lean spell, a bit like Johnson had, we know there is a class player in there.

You don't know your football then.

Ki is an outstanding player, he was our best player in both legs against Man Utd. He's a real talent.

He is a real talent and some other players we have also have talent. It's either the coaches getting it out of them or their lack of belief that's the worrying thing

He's still our best midfielder, he's been dropped deep again which I've said time and time again that he isn't effective at, and isn't even his natural position. People don't seem to realise that Swansea played him out of position and so do we. Surprise surprise his best games have come when he's play in an advanced midfield position which I shouted for from the off, eventually I got it. His form has been poor since he was deployed back in the deeper role plus the goals have dried up. We scored 13 in 7 games in the games he played in an advanced role, from the Hull game in the league he's been dropped deeper again and we've scored twice in 6 he's played. Check it I'm right. unlucky fella. ***** minds can't see the gray, everyting is just black and white but the world doesn't work that way. Obviously you'll have no come back but a blunt forced opinion because of this. <ok>;)

Push him back further up the pitch where he's enjoyed his best football and we'll have the old Ki back in no time. It's not rocket science.

Bridcutt was in the DM role, no? Ki was supposed to play in front of him.

Besides, being played out of position is no excuse for attempting zero tackles, headers etc at all. I dont care how talented he is, if he cant be arsed he can get lost back to Swansea

I said he's too deep not playing DM. I don't want him playing in front of Bridcutt in a cm role, I want him behind the front 3 playing AM, where he was playing through the latter stages of the cup run and when we smashed Fullham, where he helped feed AJ through his fantastic form (is it a coincidence AJ's for has dipped since Ki was dropped back deep)

I know my football pal & Ki is not a outstanding player sorry. Ki was good in the first half of the first leg against Man united but the second half he was ****. the game at Old Trafford he was ok but Cattermole was better & I was surprise Poyet took him off.

Even when Ki was going ok I thought people were going over the top about him & when people say Ki is our best midfield it is true but f**k me our midfield is piss weak so it can't be that hard can it. it's the same with loan players in the past, look at Rose at Spurs pal he isn't standing out like he was with us & I tell you the reason for that to, he was surrounded by **** players so that made rose look good here.

He's young manager in the early stages of his career. It's not his first mistake and it certainly won't be his last. Got to take this sort of thing into consideration with young coaches. Christ the more experienced one make enough mistakes. But yeah I think Gus has made a mistake by dropping him deeper. I don't think it's a coincidence that the goals have dried up since he has. But if Catts could distribute the ball better or Bridcutt could protect the back four better or Seb and Gards could doing anything at all then maybe Poyet wouldn't have dropped our cm unit deeper. if we didn't have so many **** players on big contracts we can't get shot of then he'd have had more resources at his disposal so he could address the problem. It's all grey areas on past events with knock on effect but to sum it up, our squad just isn't good enough.

I agree with some of it but I disagree with this young manager rubbish. why hasn't he started Borini up top after wembley? why does he keep changing the team for? the other day he said Cattermole is a leader blah blah & he doesn't ****ing pick him <laugh> it's simple stuff what his getting wrong.
