It makes me laugh other teams spend a lot more in transfers and wages yet look at some of the things they have to say about us. Need to look at their own clubs. scottvongooner says 11/05/15 2:37pm Get it together QPR. Your irresponsibility doesnt help anybody. Paying these wages for average players. How about you do it the right way now ? Look in your own backyard and get yoyr stuff together. How about you try that ? Reply pete says 11/05/15 2:35pm Surely QPR showed they agreed to abide by the FA's rules, including FFP, as soon as they participated in the Championship at the start of that season, so how can they object when, having shown a complete disregard for the rules, they have the stated fine imposed. If you enter a competition you agree to abide by it's rules! Reply fat cat says 11/05/15 2:34pm QPR signed up to the rules whilst they were in the Championship so they know all about it. No point challenging something when they knowingly signed up for it. Reply tell the truth says 11/05/15 2:13pm horrible little club, good riddance hope you go down to the conference where you belong bye bye.. Reply adam says 11/05/15 2:04pm FFP is a disgrace. It has only been created to stop teams like Man City upsetting the established footballing hierarchy because they couldn't keep up any more. Never mind that they've been poaching all the best players from other clubs for years themselves. Football is an endless stream of hypocrasy. Reply pompeyhammer says 11/05/15 1:59pm I can't see TF's problem. All he has to do is follow ManC's lead and sponsor/re-name the stadium for £500m. Job done! Reply leedsbulldog says 11/05/15 1:42pm Qpr were VERY lucky to beat Derby in playoffs a year ago and i read that they would have gone bust without promotion that year, what goes around comes around i think. Qpr will NOT beat the FA. Reply dan says 11/05/15 1:11pm QPR have had over a year to fight this and haven't. I think it's too late for a full-on legal battle given the fixtures come out soon after close of season. QPR escaped a points deduction too a few years back so they've spent a lot of time thinking the rules don't apply to them. Reply ianf says 11/05/15 1:00pm Their player purchasing policy has been a disgrace. Massively overpaying for players at the end of their careers and taking the club for a ride. They get everything they deserver and I hope they throw the book at them. Always been an awful club, maintaining top level status through a plastic pitch for years. Good riddance, put them in the conference! Reply crlspeak says 11/05/15 12:56pm They only people who have a problem with FFP is the people who break it Reply pedro says 11/05/15 12:52pm They know the rules and we all know the FFP rules are to stop any other teams challenging the big clubs. Just going to have to accept it. Reply phily1965 says 11/05/15 12:18pm So if QPR are challenging FFP, that means the F.A. are going to fine them. Reply
Yeah let's not bother worrying about facts, don't think we did sign up for football league ffp did we? And the fact that the whole thing goes againt European business law. The sooner this i revoked the better all it does is allow the richer 'bigger teams' to stay at the top it amazes me when fans outside of the top 6 think these rules are a good thing, all these people seem to do is believe what the media tell them as thinking for themselves is too much hard work!
Whatever about the fine, we could have done with the transfer embargo a few years ago; would have saved us from the likes of SWP, Salad, Bosingwa, among others
Those tweets are not from other teams/clubs. They're from football fans. Probably not very bright ones.
As ever with QPR, it is going to be an interesting ride. Regrettably, there is going to be more interest off the pitch than on it I suspect. Oh well, as Oscar said, 'There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.' Sometimes I wonder if he was right.
Lack of facts doesnt seem to stop morons joining in It is Football League not FA.Secondly rules have been changed to a lesser figure Legal system requires that lesser sentence must be applied .Employment law related to contracts means you cant cancel contacts if both parties dont agree we are full of little S***s like SWP who is only here for the dosh so not possible to reduce wage costs without paying out entire contract. We made mistakes notably trusting Red crapp & Hughes .Try reading learned advise rather than the cr*p peddled by the moron who sits near you at Arsenal or Leeds
Don't worry what bitter t@@ts say. They don't know what's going to happen and according to the decent press it's not as bad as it seems. The rules have changed and many clubs have bent the rules. Remember Faurlingate? Our board flooded with bitter comments (most from Norwich/Reading fans), what did the papers and other fans say? 15 point deduction and down 2 divisions. What happened? If we do get a fine it won't be as much as they are saying, and we will fight it and it can take months/even years and won't affect next season. Over the coming weeks the press will need something to write so expect loads of rubbish about us and FFP.
Some 'expert' this David Bick is... Says the fine relates to season before last, where we apparently spent 41 million on transfer fees?! ' a horrendous loss at that level of football' More **** and inaccuracy in the media. Like Jenas' comments about 12 players on our preseason tour on BBC site today. Really is a targeted campaign by the main stream media with inaccurate story after inaccurate story whilst always making sure they don't point out their mate Arry ****ed it all up
The lot of them can do one, even if we went in the conference we would sell out every home and away game plus probably get to win some FA cup games. The muppets who know jack about our wonderful club and our rich owners who have lawyers that will make mincemeat out of any loop hole including the Football leagues change in FFP rules.
I somehow get the feeling many of those who thought we'd stay up when the evidence of what we were seeing every week was so obvious are blindly believing that we will walk away from FFP with a slap on the wrist. We are in serious sh*t and up to our necks. Remember, we are so well run one of our key players missed our most important game of the season because of 'visa problems'. You really couldn't make it up...
As we know, you can lose £8million a year. The issue will rest on what the legal position of our submitted accounts are. We submitted accounts showing a loss of £9.8million, which included an 'exceptional item' of £60million shareholder loans written off. In normal accounting (UK GAAP), that's fine. Operating Profit or Loss means the bottom line number after all cash in / cash out elements are taken into account, so Exceptional items contribute to the Operating Loss, and should not be dismissed by a third party simply for the purpose of bringing additional levies for which, under UK GAAP, the company would not usually be liable. I appreciate we are talking about the Football League (who are probably fourth in the list of incompetent football bodies after FIFA, UEFA, and the FA) but rules is rules. Caveat: I'm not an accountant, just worked on many accounting systems in my time Opinion: unless there's a legal challenge to the accounts filed by the FL, or they try to levy a charge that ignores the exceptional items (for which I'm sure our own legal challenge would be made, which may be what's happening) I would not think a fine could be levied on any more than a £1.8million loss
Never mind how accurate the moans are, or whether we will get away with it, or whether the way the system is set up is fair/effective, I still feel deeply uncomfortable about this. Firstly, the owners (and the owners of any other club who try the same thing) shouldn't feel they can get away with putting the club at risk the way they have - we are entirely dependent on their continuing goodwill. Secondly, the playing field will never be level, some clubs do have bigger fan bases, stadia, merchandising opportunities and will be more attractive to sponsors, but surely its a good thing to discourage unsustainable debt?
