Disabled Liverpool fan âon top of the worldâ since Suarez gesture As we all know, Luis Suarez is the devil incarnate who enjoys nothing more than feasting on puppy innards before washing them down with a nice glass of children's tears. Well at least that might be the impression you would get of the Liverpool striker if you took all the newspaper columns and headlines at face value since he arrived in English football. Just last night the Uruguayan was pelted with coins by Everton fans during the derby, showing just what the blue half of Merseyside thinks of him, but there is a sweeter side to Suarez too, as revealed by Tuesday's Liverpool Echo. The paper told the story of 10-year-old Niall Kingsnorth who went to his first Liverpool match when the club played Bournemouth in the FA Cup last weekend. Niall, who is disabled, was left stunned when, even before the match started, Suarez walked over to him and gave him his warm-up shirt. Niall, who suffers from thrombocytopenia-absent radius syndrome - a condition which means he was born without arms and prevents his blood from clotting â then got to meet all his heroes after the match. "He's been on top of the world since," his mother told the Echo. "Niall has really been through it in the last 10 years and he's due to have major surgery on his leg in February so this has really given him a positive outlook on things. "He hasn't shut up about it since, they couldn't get any work out of him in school yesterday! "His favourite players are Daniel Sturridge and Suarez and he's got a shirt from Sturridge as well so they're both going in a frame and they'll go in pride of place on his bedroom wall." Niall is from Banbury in Oxfordshire but supporters Liverpool as his mother's brother is a massive fan. The Make A Wish Foundation arranged for him to see Liverpool in training last week and it was Sturridge who then arranged the tickets for the match. The 'SAS' of Sturridge and Suarez were seen squabbling with each other during the Merseyside derby when Sturridge passed up an opportunity to pass to his team-mate, but away from their intensely competitive personalities, it is nice to see the pair took the time to make a brave young boy's dreams come true. .http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs...top-world-since-suarez-gesture-110856753.html
Nice touch. Not wanting to turn off topic but there are a lot of good done by some footballers even if they are not the most popular on the pitch (Drogba and even at time Terry shows some decency) Glad that at least Yahoo are at least giving it some newstime.
