Just heard on the radio that Wilko Johnson has told the audience at the Q Awards that doctors have told him he is cancer-free after a tumour 'the size of a baby' was removed earlier in the year.

He had been given 10 months to live in late 2012, but kept touring after rejecting chemotherapy because 'it makes you ill'.

I went to Portsmouth to see him on his farewell tour last year - couldn't get tickets for the London shows. Very happy at this news though. Would drive to Canvey island to see the man play live again. What a story.

Thanks for sharing this Stroller. Very uplifting news. It puts life into perspective when we are all stressed with football.

The big C is something that affects us all in one way or another, family or friends.

Great news! Way to go Wilko... He really kick that cancers ass! Always loves Doctor Feelgood and this current line up is also magnificent. Seen them twice recently, once in Finland and also in Half Moon Pub in Putney. Great gigs. Thanks stroller for sharing this good news
