Now then.. The title says it all but what has been the period of life you can look at yourself and say, 'I did well there'? For me, it was having three lovely children to a sound wife of the time but then to cap it by raising a newborn to a healthy 27 month old child and looking after a severely crippled partner each day by guts, instinct and love.. Phil Collins, once said 'It's a funny old ****ing world'.. Yeah, it is but to see a crippled partner with no movement at all, go through it everyday with a huge smile on her face tells me.. It is a beautiful world.. Enjoy your night lads & be happy & remember.. Ha'way the Laaaads..
Although I've only had a relatively short time on earth, I'd have to say that standing next to the Pope outside Westminster Cathedral is probably top, and will probably stay ther for a while! please log in to view this image (I'm the one in black and glasses)
Well I am a son of a miner who worked down Dawdon Pit from the age of 14 (started 1942). My father was the best man I have known - I owe all I have done to him. Through his encouragement I ended up studying Natural Science at Trinity College, Cambridge University and got a PhD from Salford University. I m now a professor at the University of Bristol and I am doing everything I can to produce drugs to treat the disorders that killed my parents (neither of them lived long enough to hear of my promotion to professor).
If ever you get the breakthrough to treat a cerebal palsy woman, who's knee is in her ribs (locked) after a hip removal operation 2 years ago. Botox injections have failed so it's now a intrusiveness baclofen pump that favours the hospital to relax the muscles enough to bring her leg down. Personally, I think it's a non-starter but then again, I know this womans movements well..
doing my bit in bringing a new life into the world, he will be 35 next week, trying to do all I could for him when he was young and seeing him now with is own family
Hello Joe marra, for me it was having three great kids. Secondly, pulling Janie. Still don't know how I ever achieved that! Apart from that all I've done is be a ****.
Hi Mate, I wish I could help with that - I have read your posts and they break my heart - you are sound bloke. It is not in my specialism - I know that Baclofen is a muscle relaxant - I have synthesised a closely related compound myself. All I can say is I hope the treatment works. There is a lot of excellent research going on in spinal cord repair at present and who knows what is around the corner.
Billy, the three kids are enough to make any man happy.. Remember, to share your heart sometime is a bonus, to share your heart often makes loved ones take notice, to share your heart all the time is the be all and end all of this existence we call life.. Your a sound lad Dave, in every way x
Joe, needed a lift today. Been feeling a bit down, mostly for all the wrong reasons. Your posts always do the trick.
Zillch Davy lad.. botox injections failed miserably, infact made things worse. A ****ing nightmare for us all.. Came back from the shops today in Acomb, York,..cold, tired pissed off and this ****ing plank asks me for a ciggie. I liffted my head up from my hood (we have bad snow down here) and ****ing popped the ****.. He like lands on the road so captain sensible here grabs him by the ankle and hikes him back onto the path but seeing his ****ing face again made me nut the twat again and low and behold he's on the ****ing road again. So muggings here jumps onto the road to stop the cars etc to stop the twat getting run over and the **** gets up and hits me with a full plastic water bottle and then legs it. FFS, nee more nutts the fists next time to make sure the twat stays down haha.. Funny ****ing world Dave..
Oh **** mate, Jesus Christ. That's got me weeping for two totally different reasons mate. Give Lollie my best though mate.
Don't have kids, have a beautiful wife. Best thing I've ever done? Climbed Kilimanjaro a few years ago. Either that or diving with whale sharks.
