MANILA, Philippines – Filipino fight king Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao believes the World Boxing Organization's (WBO) decision regarding his controversial bout against Timothy Bradley Jr. will go a long way into restoring the trust of fight fans.

"Masaya ako dahil 'yung tiwala ng boxing fans at ang name ng boxing, naibalik, at 'yung tiwala ng mga tao, nandiyan pa rin," Pacquiao said in an interview with ANC.

The WBO on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) announced that a five-man panel had re-scored the controversial bout unanimously in Pacquiao’s favor, with scores of 117-111, 117-111, 118-110, 116-112 and 115-113.

Bradley was controversially awarded a split decision last June 9 at the MGM Grand, with two judges scoring the fight 115-113, and another judge giving it to Pacquiao with the same score.

"Ito siguro ay hindi lang para sa akin, kundi para sa boxing," Pacquiao said in another interview with DZMM. "Mabigyan ng leksyon ang mga judges na gumawa ng ganoon, para ‘yung tiwala ng mga boxing fans ay nandiyan palagi, 100% palagi ang suporta nila sa boxing."

The WBO will not be able to reverse the judges' decision and thus cannot return Pacquiao’s welterweight belt, However, they may authorize rematch.

Pacquiao said he will be fine even if the WBO cannot give him back the belt.

"Ang akin lang ay masaya ako dahil kumbaga, naimbestigahan na ang boxing, at maiingatan nila ang pangalan ng boxing at ang tiwala ng mga boxing fans ang iniingatan natin palagi, na hindi mawala," he said.

Following Pacquiao's loss, fight fans took to social media to express their disgust. The hashtag #RIPBoxing became a worldwide trending topic, and many fans theorized that there was a conspiracy to deny Pacquiao the win.

With the WBO's decision, Pacquiao is hopeful that the fans' faith in the sport has been restored.

"At least, 'yung tiwala ng boxing fans ay nandiyan pa rin, ang tiwala ng tao sa boxing ay nandiyan, ang suporta nila hindi nagbago. 'Yang ang importante diyan," he said.

Pacquiao may still choose to fight Bradley again in a rematch, although nothing has been set in stone. The Filipino boxer will discuss his options with his promoter next month.

It was a bad decision but Pacman got the decision in the last Marquez fight which imo he clearly lost.

Swings and roundabouts and I've seen worse decisions

I think a loss has been coming. He's been taking easy fights since he beat Cotto till the Marquez fight which he should have lost the decision.

Mayweather will school him if it ever happens
