Dodgy subject, will see how it goes... Some rapes are worse than others. No form of rape is good, they are all bad, but surely raping a child is worse than raping a adult for example?
This could get interesting... For what it's worth I agree with him. Rape is bad no matter what.. But someone being a bit drunk and having sex when they aren't in a fit state isn't as bad at the moment it's happening as someone who is attacked at knife point and threatened with life.
It's the context of the example I think. He was using it to further his explanation on people's inability to follow logic rather than a serious discussion about variances in abuse. So he didn't really give a stuff about the content of his example, it was the logic that was more important to him. It's rather cold. It's not the first time he's made these comparisons with forms of sexual assault to make a point he sees as more important. He used it once to say he believed indoctrinating a child in RC had been a worse assault on her than the physical molestation of the priest she endured. Bizarre. It's weird examples to keep returning to........unless your career is now merely as a shock jock........the faux outrage is exactly what he wants. And a personal hate of mine: he uses variances of the phrase "you people just dont get it" I see it as an indicator of a person who believes they are superior to those he's communicating with.....knob.

I agree, no type of forced intercourse is acceptable, but someone sleeping with a fully flowered 15 year old girl cannot be considered as wrong as some perv who likes to touch undeveloped children. With anything, there are levels.
Must admit though Frank, if you need an explanation of how, given the right chemistry and conditions, simple self-replicating proteins and RNA can develop from inert molecular structures, then I'd go to him rather than The Bible.
Indeed, but if I wanted a person talking to victims of sexual assault or rape about their experiences he's maybe not my first choice. Horses for courses etc.... He is still a prick of a human being though....personal opinion of course lol ...

And I think if we are discussing the topic (Richard wasn't really) that's maybe the difference. The law requires grades of offence but the psychiatrist who treats a woman who was raped by her boyfriend compared to one raped by a stranger probably won't see a difference , in fact probably the reverse since there is a breach of trust and betrayal with a partner that's missing from a stranger..... As usual not as simplistic as cold unfeeling logic. By the way, did this site not get in trouble for a similar topic thread or was it just the thread title?
Oh Come on, Im not suggesting I like sleeping with 15 year old girls ffs. But many people have been labelled *****philes over the years. What I am saying is that there is a big difference ebween a 50 year old guy who plays with toddlers and a late teens guy who sleeps with a 15 year old girl. Both however can be labelled as *****s. Im not saying either is acceptable but a lad being attracted to a girl who looks like a woman is clearly not as bad as someone being attracted to children.
I know what he was doing but 15 is still underage its just as wrong as an infant , on the statutory rape thing a good way to not get done for it is to go by this little equation. Half your age plus 7 = the youngest you should be banging. If I was single my minimum age would be 24 no potential court dates there
It was more the title and the content was quite a lot different... wasn't a sensibleish discussion on it... As long as it stays sensible discussion, think it' safe... just need o make sure it doesn't get out of hand or it'll be closed
