I expect us to, so probably not. I think Watson will be an inspirational captain, and Mickleson may cut free without Woods around. I hope its very windy indeed up in our northern provinces.
Too close to call, everyone seems to think we just have to turn up to win but the Yanks are virtually level in terms of World-ranked players, I think it could be a last match decider...
If only the Europeans could bring in a few Aussies, they'd have to be specials to win it, again! Here's hoping Poulter breaks their hearts again.
Ryder Cup golf is what football used to be like before everyone had the vision (or the curse) that the only purpose of it is to make huge pots of money for themselves and huge pots of money for Sky. Two teams playing for each other and their side, fairly honestly and with passion. The fabulous shots are what people want to see - if they're ours we go delirious, if it's the Yanks we applaud warmly but make it clear that they are welcome to show us what they can do and we appreciate it. The days when scores of 4-3 and upwards were common and teams could happily score 80 to a 100 in a season while conceding 80 to a 100. Trouble is it's only on Sky now. Still what goes around comes around - Sky News first then Tesco. Come on BT and Beeb. Bring the Cup home.
I only subscribe to Sky for the Ryder Cup and the Cricket. I'd be delighted if the BBC took them back.
Good point for Europe by Rose & Stenson.....2 others are nip and tuck, whilst Poulter & Gallagher are getting bit of a tonking, currently 5 down with 6 to play.
1 and a half points each with McIlroy/Garcia 1 up playing the 16th in the last match. Think this is indicative of how the 3 days will pan out going right to the wire.....
Try as I might I just don't get golf as a spectator 'sport'. It really is only marginally different from darts or snooker in that there is clearly a lot of repetitious skill involved but hardly any athleticism or tactics. As for the Ryder Cup its a bit like watching a year end conference of well paid businessmen.
Well that certainly ebbed and flowed, USA will be happier having snaffled 1 and half points on the 18th.....
Totally with you on this mate. i dont even seeit as a sport...more of a pastime TBH Still, each to thier own and i can only wish anyone beats the yanks. i honestly couldnt name anyone of our golfers post Seve.
not a golf fan but The Ryder Cup is brilliant viewing.. and it reminds me that we are culturally more akin to Europe than the Septics..
