He's always been one of my favourite players, so I'm pleased to see him back on the pitch today. I just saw his stats from the half hour he played today - He made 71 passes (97% complete), more than any Man City player in the entire game. He's still got it.
looked slightly off with some of his passes tbf, but thats to be expected. Especially as it was throwing it down. Glad to see him back
Nearly cost them another goal too, fantastic player though in his prime but shows how much Man U are struggling right now to bring him back, and they didnt handle the ten men too well either.
This is just my opinoin of course, but I see a lot of similarities in the movement and body posture between Scholes and Corry Evans. If he were to become half the player, that would do for me.
He seemed off the pace by a wide margin. His positioning was poor, passing and pass selection was poor. His stats are only that high cos his team mates bust a gut to get to any ball he played rather then it being good passes.
Seconded, fecked up for the 2nd goal, and most of his passes were less than 10 yards and the Man U players had acres of space as Man City were sitting back to hit them on the break. Pure desperation, and am surpirsed to see people jumping on this band wagon started by the muppet press of heralding the return of Paul Scholes. Embarrassing.
Looks like I should have watched it then, rather than just passing in and out of the room while it was on and reading the stats at the end.
The guy is a legend ffs, cut him some slack. We as a country give no respect to our best footballers. Just seen the Kompany red card, what an absolute joke, it wasn't even a foul, or a hard tackle even. Absolutely ridiculous.
There's no doubt it was a really soft red. Still, Lambretta junior went to the game today and as a neutral, it made it all very entertaining for him.
paul gascoigne is one of the greatest footballers this country has ever produced, but he had no business on that pitch today either ...
