Hello, all! I was wondering, can we make this a sticky thread, so that we can talk about music and share, etc? I just made this group on Facebook, about obscure late 60s and 70s albums. Join up: https://www.facebook.com/groups/213138728841911/ What are you all listening to at the moment? Well, I'm not sure if it'll be to anyone's taste but this album just came out and I've really been anticipating it: https://soundcloud.com/airmtm/magnus-str-m-searching-for
Anyone who says they like auto tuned music is going straight on my ignore list! Steel panther, trivium, rob zombie, rammstein and even a bit of electric six to make me laugh.
Here's a fun bit of metal for you, Flyer:
60s and 70s rock is about all I listent too. I use this in the broadest sense to cover the likes of Zeppelin, Free and the Who but also Dylan, the Band and Fairport Convention. Have you ever heard 'Electric Mud' by Muddy Waters?
I love Free! Such a great band. I'm not too much of a fan of Dylan's earliest stuff but he made some great albums as he got further along his career. My favourite is Blood On The Tracks. I'll check Electric Mud out. Join my group on Facebook!
Blood on the Tracks is my favourite Dylan album too, though I do like the early stuff as well - songs like 'Drifter's Escape' are classic, IMO.
I'm listening to a lot of 'Hawkwind' again, cos they are playing in Shepherds Bush on the 24th (including playing 'The Warrior at the Edge of Time' Album in full). Looking forward to a great night. Also, 'cos of Spotify, getting back into the old 'Oi' and punk scene again. Angelic Upstarts, 4-Skins, Cockney Rejects, Sham 69, Crass, Conflict, Peter and the Testube Babies, Black Flag....the list is endless. Still sounds great 30 odd years later
Punk, techno and reggae for me mate. But I listen to all sorts of obscure stuff, Robert Henke or Monolake as he's called is a favourite at the moment. Not gonna be your taste but I'm at http://www.soundcloud.com/davidmummery Question for you, when I said 'bye' to you yesterday outside the pub you had half a bottle of cider in your hand then what seems 30 seconds later you shot past us on your bike! Impressive!
If you're into obscure this should be right up your street, the last four minutes are an air-guitarists wet-dream...
Somebody mentioned Free. Well, one of them still going strong. Here he is with one of my favourite songs: http://youtu.be/wPcnF8OF7nc
2 current CDs I'm listening to - Nick cave & the bad seeds - push the sky away This is an excellent album, and as an added bonus the wife hates it which means I can play it louder Sigur Ros - Kveikur Another masterpiece to lie on your back on the lounge floor and drift away to
Nearly anything by Cave is worth listening to, have you tried his Grinderman incarnation? Sigur Ros inhabit a different and vastly superior universe. very fine selections Wubba. Oops, blown my cover....
