Looking for things to do in Newcastle upon Tyne this June 2012? Visit The Hopping's, the world’s largest travelling funfair that comes to Newcastle’s Town Moor every year. With over 300 attractions including over 100 exciting rides, The Hopping's is the place to be in Newcastle during the summer. Celebrating its 130th birthday this year, it’s going to be better than ever, with a live music stage showcasing North East bands and new rides such as Cyclone, Atmosfear and The Runaway Train. It is not to be missed!

    Keep Calm Hopping On!

Used to love going to the Town Moor as a kid with my parents and then as a teen with my mates. Didn't care so much for the roundabouts as the the rifles and coconut shies. Seen me spend all my cash on them and then have to walk home with my arms full of coconuts and glass dishes etc.

Been there when the grounds been waterlogged and straw and wooden boards all over the place to try and make it possible to get about without sinking ankle deep into the mud. Then in other years when the weathers been better, having dust rising in the air and almost choking you. Always worth a visit though, and even if it costs you a lot more to win a coconut than it would to buy one, the thrill of actually winning it, makes it all worth while.
