Paul Berriff, the Bafta winning documentary film maker, originally started out as a photographer for the Yorkshire Evening Post and initially became famous for his images of Yorkshire.

In the 60's, he took a lot of pictures of The Beatles, while the were performing in Yorkshire, but they were lost for 45 years and have only recently been discovered. They've now been exhibited all over the world(including an exhibition at Graceland) and now they're coming here(Berriff lived in Hull for 18 years, so thought we should be able to see them).

They're on display at John Street Gallery, 11 John Street, Kingston Square, Hull, for the entire month of January.

Does this mean that you have arranged this or was it just a figure of speech. I'll be there to see them for sure.

Nothing to do with me, it just got a mention on Blunderside this morning, so I thought I'd bung it up for anyone who was interested.

Was this photo of the Beatles taken at the ABC?

The Hull ABC Regal seems to have played quite a role in the pop scene in the early 60's in particular.

Watched a documentary about the Stones on SkyArts1 some months ago and saw Hull teenagers queueing round the block down to Dugglesbys toy shop with the Bus Station in the background.

Then over Christmas reference was made on one of the Morecambe & Wise programmes to the famous duo's association with Des O'Connor stretching back to a show at the ABC Hull in 1955.

The venue seemed to regularly attract some real talent back in the 60's - Tom Jones and the Moody Blues spring to mind when as an East Hull kid I used to catch the bus to Riley High and always looked up at the main facade to check who was on next.

If he sells them all he stands to make around 1.5 million. Not bad work if you can get it.
