Apparently 66% of world wide websites may have fallen to the ultimate hack. Some exerts are saying throw a sicky and stay in and change all your private information etc etc. Bank and Credit/debit card details could be at major risk. All over the news right now and google it if you want more info. #hackattack
The bug has been present in versions of OpenSSL that have been available for over two years. The latest version of OpenSSL released on 7 April is no longer vulnerable to the bug. Installing an updated version of OpenSSL did not necessarily mean people were safe from attack, said the team. If attackers have already exploited it they could have stolen encryption keys, passwords or other credentials required to access a server, they said. To help people check their systems some security researchers have produced tools that help people work out if they are running vulnerable versions of OpenSSL. --------------------------------- sounds similar to the adobe, microsoft outlook problem, change passwords etc should be ok. i had my msn outlook details stolen, might be more to do with i use .com rather than .co.uk though, but because i changed my password they couldn't get in, they tried a change of password thing so be wary that way, but if you ignore it if you know you didn't request it should be fine. all financial companies will be updated to the new version of Openssl so change your password your end just in case. be nice if they said where these supposed tools ie link! to check for vulnerabilities was!
No point updating your passwords until you know the site you use has updated their software!!!!! Some sites have- some sites haven't.
Yet another intentionally weakened security encryption. Add that to RSA being intentionally weakened by the NSA for cash.
