Any of you ever been to a show for a band called The Beat (called The British Beat here). They are playing in Sacramento and I was thinking of going. Anyone know if they put on a good show?

I saw them at The Grand Pavilion in Withernsea many years ago, they were very good. I think out of the original line up there's only Rankin Roger & Everett Morton left. I think RR son's in the band now too.

The Beat are playing in Scotland this weekend, I'd guess the Beat incarnation playing over there will be Dave Wakeling's. He's the original guitarist & vocalist so will probably have a more authentic sound to the original band.

There's a Hull connection with The Beat ellewoods, original members David Steele and Andy Cox and left the band to form the Fine Young Cannibals with Hull's own Roland Gift as their front-man...
