I live between Newcastle and Sunderland. I use Newcastle every time for shopping, nights out or most other stuff really. I don't want to offend anybody but I've always found Sunderland to be a **** hole with absolutely nothing to offer..... Sorry!

Although Sunderland does offer the best football club in the world and that's why I enter the place.

Tbf, when looking for something to do with the kids today we ended up at the metro centre for all the lego crack

Went to the sandcastle yesterday like for the whackey warehouse (soft play) we had 2 pints anarl like

There's not alot to do tbh, council keeps knocking **** down and selling the landspace, i.e crowtree, used to love the 'rover day' swimming, skating, pool, bit footy, lunch, full day out was mint

We aint got nothing no more

I still love walking along the sea front at Roker when I come back to visit. Always loved to go there when I was a kid, (many frigging moons ago). Never went to Newcastle much as a kid and can't stand the people now to be fair so avoid it like the plague. I would like to see them do something with the town center in Sunderland though it starting to look shocking!

Its not all Gregg's in the Bridges.

We have the Glass Center - a place to record when we were world beaters in the trade.

History built back to A.D. 674 at St. Peters.

    Great parks. Great beaches.

How many football teams in England have been top of the pile six times?

Look around n'all. International cricket in Chester-le-Street. International swimming next to the stadium.

    Grotto. Beamish. Penshaw.

I need Billy Joel to write this up.

Born and bred in Sunderland, moved to Washington 22 year ago and now live in Birtley. If I go shopping or eating out I always go to Newcastle as it offers more and it's easier to get to, but Sunderland folk are the salt of the earth and Sunderland is in my veins. SAFC best team in the land.

I'd recommend everyone reads this book. You'll then realise that we've plenty (of history anyway) to be proud of.
Largest shipbuilding town in the world, first Christian church (St. Peters) on mainland, first Masonic lodge in UK and, did you know the The Alexandra Bridge is the heaviest latticework structure ever built?
The weather pisses me off but I don't think I could live anywhere else.
    (Not mention Cholera though!)
