I don't know if many of you are on facebook, I'm guessing most will be. I'm sick of trawling through the same s**t on their, Some knacker has split up with his bird or the endless boring pictures. I was wondering if any of you have found any decent sunderland fan pages or sunderland news? The ones I have aren't really any good. Would appreciate any suggestions. Cheers.

I've always found here to be one of the best, some of the lads are boarding on obsessive and are trawling the net and social media constantly If it pops up up they let us know pretty damn fast. If you want to chip in (i do early windows but can't keep up with the freaks late in the window<laugh>) or going to be away from the forum then Newsnow for the internet media outlets, but not sure about the social networks sites fella sorry. <ok>

Facebook is a great tool for keeping in touch with family and friends who live too far away to see regularly...When it comes to football news and gossip this and the sundermad site do for me..

The Sunderland AFC News and Banter page is decent, they are ridiculously quick to post any rumour/news almost instantaneously and there's some decent crack on there now and again. You do get a large number of jeb ends on there though, constantly whining and slagging off the club. It's kind of a microcosm of Facebook as a whole really; some decent banter, but a lot of mindless, irritating ****s.

I've got friends abroad so is the best way of keeping in touch with them. If all of my friends were local I'd agree.

Yeah they've also got telephones. Facebook is easier and cheaper. Simple really.

For footy stuff, twitter is the best imo.

Favebook just makes me appreciate how good my life is.

    Some total degenerates on there

For mates, its whatsapp, texts, skype or phone.

Or pub. Pub is always a safe bet

I speak to my mate in New Zeeland via Email. I keep in touch and I'm not forced to know his tedious, mundane, monotonous daily life updates he and so many are fond of sharing. I'm interested to know how his wedding plans are coming along and if he's raised his fare to come home for his stag do. But I couldn't give a **** if the tomatoes have made his bread soggy or that he just got a good deal on Alienware laptop motherboard or whatever.

Facebook attracts a lot of people who think they're more interesting then they actually are and they tend to live on the thing. Spoils it for normal people who don't abuse it. I'd had enough.

I had a cull of dickheads on facebook a while back, went from about 450 down to 80 in one go.

After that for about a month I got friend requests off about 150 of the people I'd just deleted. Few of them PM'd me about it saying stuff like 'there's something wrong with my facebook I think we accidentally deleted each other'... no mate, you're just a **** and I'm sick to death of seeing pictures of your ****ing dinner or reading about how cute your stupid kids are.

It's cheaper than phoning abroad mate no cheaper than emails but it is easier. The ergonomics of the message system mean you can scroll through without having to select different emails, open them up and look through them.

If I want to see a recent picture of my brother's baby I can see them all in one place.

Facebook has had some of the greatest minds and resources adapting it's user interface for years leaving it lightyears ahead of emails. Emails are cracking, great as an equivalent for sending letters or faxes but Facebook brings everything together and makes everything very very easy. It's why the likes of Whatsapp, BBM and iMessage use a similar architecture to Facebook over emails.

Emailing coding was built earlier on in the internets life than facebook and it's never really changed which puts it at a disadvantage.

I get far more spam through email than I do on facebook. I make a point of keeping my friend list fairly up to date. I see some people with hundreds or thousands of friends, that I don't understand as you're going to get a **** load of crap that you couldn't care less about or **** ****e that arseholes post as you say!
