I have just been diagnosed with advanced cancer of my prostate gland. I am telling you this for advice to all. The symptoms are the malfunction of my water works such as going for a P very often, having to get up in the middle of the night, not being able to finish properly and probably dribbling a bit. NO pain. If you have any of this go to the doctors bacause a simple blood test will identify it very quickly. Mine, fortunately, is treatable as are almost all prostate cancer states from early confirmation to very advanced state. The earlier it it found the easier it is to treat. Please, don't take this post as a morbid subject I just felt it would be good to advise people of the problem. I lived with the symptoms for more than a year blaming other tablets I was on until a pal was telling why he was going into hospital and I realised I had the same symptoms as he had. I started Treatment this week. Right thats it, back to football now!!!. I never liked Pearson anyway.
Sorry to read that Good luck with everything. Well done for posting the article if it just makes one poster have a check up it could make a big difference.
All the best Charles , do you live in Hull ? There great at castle hill cancer unit .. If you need any info try out the Macmillan uk site.. Don't know IF you will get a mac nurse but they sure can be a help and super support Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you . And Charles , chemo isn't as nasty as you might think..Side effects can differ even between two patients , on the same chemo .. All the best .
Good luck, treat yourself to a copy of a book called 'Heal Your Body' by Louise Hay and read the introduction especially. I'm sure you'll find the book invaluable in giving yourself a better take on cancer, so much of any cure for anything is in the mind.
Your treatment is what will cure you Charles .. the world is full of wild claims about magic cures..IF in doubt always ask your specialist ...
Good luck Charles,a couple of mates have been diagnosed recently, one has had his treatment and is doing okay. The other one starts soon. I went for a check up things are okayetc but it took me a while to organise it. You will get plenty of support here
Wise advice Charles--the earlier the condition is detected the better. My husband was diagnosed aged 66 with Prostate Cancer in 2003 via the PSA blood test and underwent successful treatment. Best wishes for a favourable outcome. Ps. When is your 80th birthday next year?
good luck with the treatment Charles. Hope all goes well. as it is Movember (http://uk.movember.com/about/) I am in the middle of growing some face fungus to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer. It was a shock to shave off the beard that had been lovingly tended for the past decade and start again. Looking good so far.
Good luck Charles.... The symptoms described are very similar to Diabetes, regular toilet breaks etc...Gents don't leave it, get yourself checked out.
Also similar to 'enlarged prostate'. I know for a fact, but religiously take a PSA test, to make sure that's all it is.
Aye, my Grandad has prostate cancer. I was desperate to grow a 'Mo' for Movember. Unfortunately we have a wedding next Saturday and the Mrs made it crystal clear I wasn't attending looking like Lemmy from Motorhead. Definitely doing it next year, regardless. Respect to the Movember fund raisers
Isn't Not 606 great!! Thank you for all your good will messages, you have no idea how that makes me feel. But I posted for other people to know what is all about and then I get all this support. Those stains on your screen right now are my tears of appreciation, thank you all.
