Great actor (original version of Brighton Rock and when he played Christie in Ten Rillington Place) he played Christie in such a way that it got under your skin, Hopkins copied the style to do Hannibal but not as good. Most would remember his acting from The Great Escape when he played Bartlet and when he came back to acting in later life in Jurrasic Park. A brilliant director as well with Ghandi probably his stand out film. Did a lot for the British film industry generally and a lot of charity work. Basically a true gentleman
