Meeting an old mate for lunch this Saturday before the game.

Which pub is best for a quiet lunch and a chat please?

    Cheers.

    Amusing but not helpful!!

How's your Monday been? Still find it weird that I'm in the middle of a busy Monday morning and you might be watching something on TV with your first tinnie of the evening??

How far are you prepared to walk? What used to be The Thatched House on Dalling Road (Ravenscourt Park) has changed to something called The Butcher's Hook. Bit sad about that, it was where my Dad bought me pre match drinks in the seventies, and was Young's very first pub. Bit nearer to the Goldhawk Road on Aldensley Road is the Andover Arms, good little pub.

When I was down to see Kate Bush, we stayed in the Crown and Sceptre (not the regular QPR haunt) on Holland Road, not far from Earls Court Station - excellent food and good Italian beers, quite quiet, about a 10 - 15min walk to ground

The Crown & Sceptre on Melina Road http://crownandsceptreshepherdsbush.co.uk/ is my preferred watering hole pre match. Serves excellent Thai food but gets absolutely crazy from 13:00 onwards. Get there about 12:00 and you can usually get a table and have a conversation without too much trouble
