No, he was so close that he had no time to react. The flyers are notoriously bad at shot outs and the Russian goalie is an ex flyer so no surprise there.
I hate shootouts - football, hockey doesn't matter. I think the team that score the most ought to win, and if it is even, play on until there is a winner.
Yes i agree with that but it would mess up the schedules of these kind of tournaments. However the normal sudden death rule (play until the goal is scored) should be on use in semifinals and finals. There's a chance to see some comedy hockey if the game tonight goes to OT, the winner in OT would face russia while the loser in ot would get the much easier match up. The real stuff starts after today.
