A friend told me about this site and I thought some of you might appreciate it.
It really does give a fascinating insight into old Norwich.

That River End didn't change too much between then and 1971 when my Dad took me to my first match. Blimey, I've trodden those concrete steps some times ! ;)

    Yes, great site, that.

While we're at it, there's some great archive film stuff about our region on here, too:

Great picture it's amazing how much the whole area has developed. For some reason I always remember there being some industrial style buildings around by those allotments, I remember the view when queuing for eternity to purchase some playoff tickets.

When I first went to matches back in the 70s both the 'River End' and the old 'South Stand' were built on mounds of earth. Like Kickitoff, I can remember trudging up all those steps (and then we had to stand through the whole match - these young people today, they just don't understand!). :emoticon-0116-evilg

<yikes> I hope that's meant as a joke - it's a residential home / sheltered accommodation these days. Don't think they would like it if you just walked in!

They do encourage organised tours though, it's a terrific place to view. Check out this website for anybody who's interested.
