Don't want to use up my data allowance. You will probably guess that I'm not really clued in tech wise.
It's a portable, I use it when driving as it has stations I can't get on normal car radio such as Planet Rock. There are one or two areas where the signal may slip but in general it's excellent...
Receivers, not transmitters As far as I understand most phones with FM do not use data allowance unless one specifically lets the phone search for station data etc. What may seem an app is often just a digital FM tuner (not DAB which is something else entirely) using the phone's display to show frequency and possibly RDS data such as station name etc. Apple probably do things differently however.
You should be able to turn off your phone's data connection (usually with a long press of the power button). Connect your headphones and try the fm option on your phone (it should have a radio of some kind). If it works then you've got yourself one already...
My mum and dad had a gramophone with a built in radio, if that helps. They didn't take it jogging much though.
Stick a ghetto blaster on your shoulder and get out there. Old school. Radio problem solved, extra benefit from dealing with it. No brainer.
All of the Samsung range have them as did the old Sony Ericssons. If you have an old one of them charge it up and get your pumps on.
Did they take it to the pub? please log in to view this image If anyone needed a reason to hate hipsters besides stupid facial hair and glasses.
If it's being used when jogging 'd expect the headphones to be being used anyway. I know with the Samsung phones you have to have the headphones in (as Flyer says the cable acts as the aerial), but you can still play it through the loudspeaker if you want to.
