At Wembley Park take the Metropolitan Line to Kings X. Get on the Victoria Line to Euston.

If i were you i would get off at Euston Square (the stop before KX) and then walk, it's over the road and not too far. You can probably walk quicker than transferring to Victoria Line and then waiting for the next train.

This is definitely the best option, turn right out of Kings Cross and it's a ten minute walk straight up Euston Road.

Thirded the Euston square option. As I said before the semi, download the "Citymapper" app (free on android and iOS). It tells you if there are any disruptions on your line, tells you where the nearest available bikes are and you can enter your hotel postcode as home and ask it how to get you home with one click if you're wasted around covent garden or elsewhere on the Saturday night.

I'll be on the same train and in a similar situation on the Saturday night - from googling it it didn't look that complicated, though I've never done the underground on my own.

Using the underground on your own isn't as scary as imagined. Just make sure plenty of time is allowed and check your route beforehand.

Just get on Metropolitan line Southbound at Wembely and get off at Euston (no changes).

    Mind the gap.

Fuel up with booze outside Euston station in Sainsbury 24 hrs store, abuse any Gooners, job done.

Two things to bear in mind and three suggestions.

It could take you ages to get up Wembley Way.
Once in Wembley Park Station you need to know which steps to go down.

You can go round the queue by avoiding Wembley Way all together. the main road passes the "normal" station entrance.
I think that the Metropolitan Line (South) is the far set of steps. You need to get to the right hand side of the bridge.
I would check it out when you get to the station just ask and they generally are ok.

    Did it for the Semi

It's right at yon end when you enter the station and signposted.

About 15 -20 mins journey time.

I was planning to go to wembley central (10 min walk) after the match and get London overground direct to euston (25mins) and then onto the manchester train. Any reason why wembley park is better?

Are you sure it goes to Euston? I understand it only goes to Marylebone.

Edit: scrap that. It does seem to go to Euston. Was thinking of Wembley Stadium not Wembley Central. Wembley Central is a mile from stadium so will take a little more than 10 minutes.

The only downside is that the trains only go every 20 minutes so if you don't get on the first one you're in for a long wait.

When we have won it will feel like 10 minutes !
There are only 3 trains per hour though, so if you happen to just miss one then it could be a pain. (But it does seem to get you straight into the correct Euston at the other end wiothout the need for extra walking or a change.)
How long did it take to get from stadium and onto a tube train at Wembley Park after the semi ? Are the queues to get into that station an issue? After the 2008 match it seemed to take a while to get down Wembley Way, although it depends on winning or losing the match I guess.......

(I liked the suggested CityMapper app by the way)

It takes a long time- don't ask me how long, but minimum 30 mins to get to platform I'd say.

I saw HUUUUGE queues at the semi, well when I say queues I mean a huge horde of people not going anywhere in a hurry, so I went to the pub. When I left the pub 3 pints later, it was still busy but I got a tube to Euston Square & when I got off there was a bit of a lack of signage, pretty sure it was down to the alcohol to sign ratio. However as long as I can get a ticket then I'll be going down that route again, although it does depend on where I stay.
