if you really didn't care as much as you say you do you would not have posted on this thread.

It's mildly interesting that you want us to know how much you don't care<whistle>

  5. It was a sympathy without being too blatant <ok>

I genuinely don't care about health that much. Of course I want to be healthy but I don't put any effort into achieving it. In fact, if you put food in front of me and said it was unhealthy for whatever reason, I would have eaten it before you finished explaining <ok>

    I actually read 4/5 of this. <yikes>
I eat lean meat and veg. Carbs I eat are potatoes and wholegrain rice. Don't use much sugar. Bet I'll still die of some unforseen premature illness.

    <laugh>

We're all like you in that respect, I suspect.

Still, no harm to have more info I guess. No sympathy posts was needed, it is more of a bulletin than an actual discussion starter really. I'm not getting any younger and I do try feed the kids a healthy diet, the latter being where most of my efforts go rather than myself.

Also, apparently meat and grains are two of the major causes of arthritis, they cause acid to form and the body uses calcium to fight it and it depletes calcium leading to arthritic conditions, obviously for anyone suffering with it, raw foods are the way to go rather than pain injections and meds, apparently.

    Definitely tastier.

Why do you bother being concerned about drinking so much milk so, so you'll leave a handsome 60 year old skeleton?<laugh> High calcium intake does help prevent arthritis though but has other affects, I guess you can't win.

In the academic world his words would be laughed at. He's the author of two books that advocate his belief - which is a bias that you can't overlook. As soon as there is a profit motive for a scientist, those claims have to be seriously scrutinised.

Take Wakefield and autism vaccines for example.

In other words don't take his words as gospel by any means. Stick to what your practician says. 9/10 times, if the information this man provides is correct, it will be adopted around the world.

Edit: just saw this - "He is the founder of Healthy Humans Foundation that promotes human health with a focus on helping large corporations promote wellness."

Large corporations probably funding his research. I would never reference this man's studies in an academic research paper. I'd get laughed at.

mmm, interesting piece & I think that it's fairly certain that complex carbohydrates are the root cause of Americas current obesity issues, but I'm not quite as convinced that they're the sole root cause of heart disease, as surely the weight that these patients are carrying also has a sizeable effect?

I actually had dinner with a heart surgeon a couple of years ago & he was adamant that butter was the root of all evil in terms of the patients he was treating, lashings of butter on toast for 40 years & you'd end up on his table, was his view on it.

  12. Just had a mega mixed grill and paid extra for a larger steak. Then had a chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ice-cream for pudding. All washed down with a pint of Fosters

The piece is interesting though, the whole sandpaper to your arteries ect and sugar.

There are so many conflicting research studies one just ends up going "**** it"

**** it lads, it won't matter with Fukushima. That **** is getting out of hand. Californ I A will have to close its beaches next year probably.

If they handle that **** wrong and the fuel pods go up in smoke then it starts pumping **** into the air it's a global catastrophe. The japs should not be allowed handle that **** on their own.

I think it is the mercury that I can't handle, which cuases the smell and the taste? Just take fish oil tablets to replace those omega 3s.

I am a chicken man though, grilled grilled and grilled. <ok>
