Must be a good omen. The NY Rangers beat the Philly Flyers to advance to the next round of the Ice Hockey playoffs.
No one is grumpy, the GM just gave an average 30yo player a massive 6 year deal and he then proceeds to be the worst player on the ice costing the series. Sounds familiar eh? No one is upset as the know the GM will be fired and the win now and sod the future attitude has meant no cup in 40 years. Its better to lose the series and get rid of him than win a series and then keep him.
I'm not grumpy or angry, no fan is. We all knew the team wasn't ready so everyone wants the gm gone just like how everyone wants Redknapp gone.
hahahahhahahahaha....Flyers language translates to any sport eh..! Now i know where all those black clouds i saw earlier were heading.... AND we even managed to get Harry in this thread too...pure genius
I generally don't follow the NHL, but you inspired me to watch a couple of periods of that NYR v Flyers 7th game. Last night I also watched the first two periods of game 1 Boston v Montreal, and with the score 2-0 Habs I went to bed, so this morning was surprised to see the final score 4-3 Habs after double overtime - I guess, never say never in any sport.
The Flyers were 3-0 down in games against boston a few years ago, game back to 3-3 and were 3-0 down in the final game as well, then proceeded to come back and win that one too and take a series. Ive seen a team 5-0 up with 8 mins left lose a game before, its never good to switch off a game when your team is losing.
Does anyone remember this guy, Ken Baily, from Bournemouth, the lifelong mascot, who I first encountered when my Dad brought me to Bournemouth in 1966 to watch my very first R's game in Division Three, winning 3-1, with my first taste of Rodneeeeeeee and the start of this odyssey. please log in to view this image http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/obituary-ken-baily-1467167.html http://torquayfansforum.co.uk/thread/4985/01-80-bournemouth-ken-bailey
Another example of that - Montreal just blew that game at Boston, losing 5-3 after being 3-1 up in the 3rd period with just 9 mins to play!
It happens a lot, you'll quite often see two goals in under 30 seconds or 3 in 90 seconds. I do like it when the flyers score in the last couple of seconds, that's happened about 3 or 4 times this season.
